Bits and Pieces X1

Title is self Explanatory. Here is my X1 S.Afridi© C.Harris(vc) R.Singh D.Sammy M.Ealham T.Moody P.Simmons R.Jacobs(WK) A.Matthews B.Mcmillan R.Peterson Criteria Not including Batsman who were handy bowlers or VIce Versa.Eg;Guys like SRT,Richards,Gayle etc have taken quiet a few LOI wickets but that was not their primary role.SImilarly bowlers like Pollock,Vettori etc are excluded for the same reason. Likes of Jayasuriya and Kluesner have been excluded because one has a 300 at the test level and the other some impressive spells to qualify them above that level. I mean to assess if someone was truly bits and pieces,you should have followed their career,I mean for all we know Sobers could have been one despite his accomplishments :dontknow: :--D You will find abundance of such players from the England ODI team of the 90's but obviously I have picked the best quality of these types of Players I have seen. I picked Jacobs because he was an average keeper who was a decent bat and did well for WI in the early part of the decade. Pick your own X1

Simmons was an opener man lol Not a bits and pieces player. NOt a great record. But a specialist opener

ya.. a bit. But not an out and out specialist batsman. Lot of new zealanders were like that. There was Dion Nash, Shane Thompson.

Yeah I agree that McMillan was probably good enough an allrounder to not qualify, Id suggest that holds true for Razzaq as well How about Jadeja?

@laxman...simmons was pretty much a loi specialist at the end of his career....5th or 4th bowler and finisher iirc....but yeah he was iin the side as a batsman at the start. @sooda....I knew mcmillan was a controversial pick but from what I saw despite him bringing balance to the side, he was an average batsman and a bowler....sir jaddu definitely I agree. ... How about boje anither terrific bits and pieces man.

Tough to pick a bits and pieces w.k....if dravid wasn't such a great batter....he would be an autmatic choice.

I think the qualification truly comes under this topic when we ask about a player -- why is he in the side, he is neither a bowler, nor a batsman , not even a keeper ?

Both Adam and Ben hollioke would qualify. Someone like Vijay Bharadwaj, that one series wonder may also. I agree with the selections of Shane Lee and Ronnie Irani though. Actually, as someone said, that Enland team of 90's had so many bits and pieces player. Thee was one more called Dougie Brown or somone who won a match against India a Sharjah in '97.
