Appaling captaincy seriously. No idea what he was trying to achieve with Raina and Kohli in 12th over. Part timers will never win you matches in these conditions.

Just think of what happened with Md. Shami. After his return in the Aussie ODIs, he was picking wickets by the dozens. Swinging and seaming the ball at high pace. Yet, he was removed from the opening bowler's slot , introduced around the 10 th over for only 1 over or so multiple times and basically used as a defensive option in the later part of the innings. Remember that , with the 2 balls rule, reverse swing is a rarity in ODIs. Basically, it is using aggressive bowlers in defensive roles and hence, not developing or encouraging wicket taking bowlers. It is this mentality that is being discussed.

And bowled 15 overs in 10 spells

If Dhoni were the captain he would have come back at the 40th over for a one over spell. :--D

First Mistake- 4 fast bowlers shud havebeen played..... Second Mistake_- All 3 fast bowlers shud have bowled 30 overs in africa..... I believe even Shammi did not bowl 10 overs....that's Non sense. After 2 overs why was Umesh removed......he shud have got at least a 4 over spell......followed by a 2 over spell in middle overs and a 4 over last stage spell.

i have seen appalling,gobsh1t captaincy by dhoni quite a few times but today was extraordinarily sh1t!! it was as if he was trolling the indian fans and wanted to do whatever he wanted without a plan

Exactly its not rocket science is it. Its basically what any other skipper would do. A game plan. And the bowlers would all know the game plan and bowl with confidence cos of it. Instead we have to endure cpataincy by dhonis gut insticnt.

Really today was one of msd worst days as odi captain.He clearly misjudjed the conditions for indian conditions and not bowling 4 main bowlers quota and filling with part timers like raina and kohli was idiotic.

Last over +ne 4 shud have bEen stopped by dhoni himself. Umesh ishant n shammi are the right attack they shud also play one of BK or mohit too Play only 1 spinner......open his eyes he is in AFRICA not india
