I6MTW
This is a learning curve for the batsmen. Bowlers on other hand' date=' if we wana compete away we sure need to find a couple of world class bowlers, or story will remain same.[/quote'] As nowadays Indians are getting fitter each generation, we might get a fit, tall, fast bowler that can compete with the world. goose
More than the losing of these two one-dayers is a greater sadness that i no longer care. Nothing about this Indian side's skills or personnel inspires me in the slightest. Link to comment
Pagalpanti
^We even had a rich history of World class spinners.. Harby was last of those, even he had a poor last 4-5 years. Link to comment

amiret
Are India really any good at cricket? All time Win/loss ratio of 0.81 in TEST matches , India is at 7th position below Sri Lanka . So the answer is No. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;orderby=win_loss_ratio;template=results;type=team Link to comment

Deleted_User_1
Why are you guys wasting your time watching these humiliations after humiliations which will continue for one and a half more years? The captain himself believes away matches are for practice only. BCCI will line up some sitting ducks like WI and SL for the home season to rejuvenate the fan base and there is of course' date=' IPL.[/quote'] +++++++ Once fans stay away from cash cows like IPL, BCCI does not give a feck. Plus there is always WI or NZ to beat up at home when the morale is down. With all the overseas tours this year is going to be devastating for Indian fans until after WC 2015. Link to comment
StriKe
Mohandas Menon @mohanstatsman 7m India first ODI series/tournament loss in 2013 since losing 1-2 to Pakistan in January. In btwn have won 6 in a row Link to comment
Deleted_User_1
yeah we have won odd global competition here and there, and some good patches supplemented by good home form. but it seems like it is the same story over and over again when we go to Australia, SA, and Eng. we struggle to play pace, bounce, and swing and more frustrating we don't have the firepower to return the favour. every single away series to these three countries we go in as massive underdogs both in odis and tests. at least the likes of Australia, South Africa, and England come to the Asia and put up a fight and sometimes even go away with wins. I can't help but think without big fast bowlers in our team and domestic circuit, India cricket won't go much further in terms of competiveness in away series. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Sidhoni
Too much of a reaction after just one bad series? 2 of the last 6 ODI series we won were away(CT in England, Tri series in WI). I am sure we would have been much better if this was a full tour and we were given time and warmup matches for practice. Link to comment
NareshK
There has to be some preparation for any series to Eng, SA, Aus or even NZ or WI - at least a 3 day or 4 day game and a week to get acclimatized to the conditions. Pitches there are vastly different to anything we face in India. Link to comment

The captain himself believes away matches are for practice only. BCCI will line up some sitting ducks like WI and SL for the home season to rejuvenate the fan base and there is of course' date= IPL. I have a vague memory of beating Australia in an ODI series recently. Oh wait, that doesn't count because: (1) We have patta wickets, fast outlfields, no reverse swing and short boundaries only when our guys bat. The groundspeople miraculously reset the playing conditions such that even stalwarts like Shane Watson and Brad Haddin could not score consistently and fast enough when it was their turn. (2) They didn't have Mitchell Johnson in any of the matches they lost. Oh wait ... (3) It's not real cricket when India scores more than 350. (4) George Bailey is unlucky as captain. (5) Come on - the heat, dust, pollution, food, spices, crowd-noise, dew, and beggars on the streets were all unfair distractions to the touring firangs. (5) Ozzies are minnows, too. (6) Victories only count when they come on greentop wickets with sand-logged outfields in SA. All other matches are exhibitions. What else am I missing? Link to comment
