Didn't he get his wkts in the first over of his second spell? So REs please guide me on how many overs need to be given to a bowler to get into rhythm?
Yes, you can do it when a bowler is in rhythm but when he is not then he needs a longer spell to get back the feel and the rhythm because in giving 1-2 overs, when bowler is not in rhythm every time he bowls, he will have to start all over again to get back to rhythm. Yadav was certainly coming into his rhythm in later spell bowling 145Ks and got, ABDV, got edges from Miller when he was on 5 but Dhoni has no idea that you can get a new batsman out by having slips. He is always reactive. He is always trying to save runs rather than try and pick wickets. Two edges in one over from Miller when he on 5 and 9 of Umesh, one Dhoni could himself have taken and but he was sleeping, one was through first slip and Miller scored 56 of 34 in the end. De Kock can easily be bounced out. He is very much a compulsive hooker and puller. Yes, he can hit a few boundaries but he can top edge too. Umesh induced that but Rahane dropped the catch. They needed to it more often tactically by placing fielders at fine leg and square leg. Umesh and Shami both have enough pace to force him to make errors. Look at Cook and KP, both are good pullers but still were succumbed to bouncers and got caught. Because your strength can be your weakness too and compulsiveness leads to downfall. But I don't see any strategy to get wickets from Dhoni. His only strategy is to bring Raina and Kohli and make it even easier for them.

Ishant bowled the same lengths he did in India, but in these conditions it would suit that. He wasnt uni-dimensional though, slipped in a few yorkers, and pace was up a bit compared to the Aus series.

Umesh's average speed was 87 mph. Thing was he got more bounce here than India and was more consistent though still slipped some short and wide stuff but less. Did not try too much short stuff, just back of length and got some extra bounce.
