He has to be consistent. One good performance among a string of failures is not good enough. Ishant seems to bowl better in non-subcontinent ODIs. Better than sub-continent ODIs and tests anywhere.

I've been saying this forever that ishant is a good odi strike bowler. He's got a good strike rate and average and played a key role in the champions trophy win. Only delusional fans that think we have pace bowling depth think we can drop him from odis.

This is a ploy by SA team. Give Ishant a good ODI outing in a dead rubber which they will still win...& force India to include him in Test..so that they can score easily 600+ SA not playing fair. :)

He should only play ODIs and should not be bowled much in the death. He shouldn't play tests. 3 out of Zaheer, Umesh, Mohd Shami, B Kumar should play the first test.

Yes better today Helps that he was treated how a pace bowler should be by dhobi. For some reason he got the VIP treatement:--D New ball, only 2 spells, full 10 overs. No 1 over and 2 over spells. Nice opportunity to get in to groove and get going.
