The fact is he was abused by the crowd and he gave it back. The problem is indian crowd doesnt involve in verbals with foreign players like the aussie crowd which they say to check mental toughness of the opposition player. If that was the case aussie players would have reacted the same way to indian crowd. :winky:

I've been to a game in India, a lot of the crowd are great but the ones that hurl abuse are pretty racist. I actually heard worse there than here in Australia but the majority were great. Australian players face abuse by English and South African crowds and vice versa and they don't do stupid **** like Kohli did. If you are a professional player you have the be smart enough to lap it up or ignore it. Kohli decides not to be smart.

So when Gambhir elbowed Watson, physical contact had no place in cricket as per Aussies and the match referee Chris Broad, hence Gauti was banned for the next test. But in Ashes Johnson and Stokes doing exactly the same is absolutely ok, not even worth a fine! Also has anyone heard of over rates in this Ashes so far?

A few points on this issue 1) Racial bias exists strongly within the ICC. The umpires and match referees do not mete out neutral treatment to the players of all its member countries. The Mike Deness incident is a prime example. 2) BCCI should have accepted the DRS . The fact that they did not do so cannot be an excuse to treat Indian players with prejudice by the match referees and umpires from England , Australia etc. It is an absurd excuse. 3) We might dislike Gavaskar the BCCI 'spokesperson ' but he is one of the rare few Indians among past players, along with Ganguly, who points out when Indians are treated shabbily. These two different sides of Gavaskar need to be recognized. 4) Most past cricketers of all countries whine about issues. Why single out Gavaskar ? 5) Strongly pointing out countrywise bias is the right thing to do. Anybody can see the different set of rules being applied in the Ashes. The players are being given far more leeway with aggressive behaviour. This must go.

I think you guys need to stop caring about what other countries and their fans think of us. They don't care a damn for India and any statement they make for/against India is purely selfish agenda driven. We need to do what is best for ourselves. We were single handedly robbed in Sydney by a long standing biased against India MOFO like Bucknor. I don't see why we should not have stood up against that injustice? Especially when we were silent about it for years.

Absolutely. This constant need to please other countries has reduced in recent years. But sad to see that it is not gone completely.

Tbh.....the first Asian player who didn't suck up to the west or the westindies.....showed a in your face attitude.....first guy to play fire with fire in his own way. Sad to see him being a shell of of a man these days
