Which team will be more happy at END?

India of course. If you look from the start it was SA who were going nuts with their loud mouth talk and in the end they couldn't win the game, one of their main bowlers was ground to the dust.

South Africa, lost two wickets in the first session of today and chasing 458 with a lot of overs to survive, I think basically nearly 2 days and managed to draw it. Yeah it has to be South Africa. I can see why people say India and it is solid reasoning but I just feel it is South Africa.

India..South africa will be disappointed for not going through the chase..They played it safely once Faf was out..India knew it in last hour that they are not winning this, so they would be happy.

Indian team will be happy they escaped with a draw. Any sane indian fan should be furious with the dhoni's captaincy and india;s bowling.
Anyone who has played any bit of professional cricket would rather appreciate the hard effort put in by this young team the way they fought.

SAF will be more satisfied with this result becoz india came close to winning this first test of a short series. Now SA can breathe and feel confident for durban.
Graeme Smith indicated he was not pleased . He mentioned it was Steyn & Vernon's decision not to go for the Target .

Based on what happened today India. South Africa chickened out. 16 off 18 balls with 3 wickets in hand and they should have tried to take singles. I was relieved when they decided to shut shop then.

And a smart decision. If Steyn got bowled trying to slog, you have an injured Morkel and a crappy Tahir coming next.

What SAF would have also realized is that this Indian bowling on helpful tracks will be a handful and the Indian batting cannot be rolled over either. They have an interesting choice to make about the Durban pitch. Pollock did say the groundsman showed him the pitch which will be used for the test match and that it had a different type of grass which doesnt go dead easily and will ensure seam movement on all 5 days.

I don't think Smith was entirely pleased but clearly stated that he supports the decision of the batsmen in the middle. Nothing worthwhile is ever won in life without risk. I think they should have risked it.

And you believe it? Do one thing. Reverse the scenario. Dhoni in place of Smith , Zaheer and Ishant in place of Steyn and Phill. Now redraft the sentence and see how would you react.

And be 1-0 down in a 2 test series. In a normal scenario you would have gone for it but do you really want to give India so much confidence and be 1-0 down in a test series? Not really. I think Steyn and Philander did the right thing and they if anything gave South Africa confidence going into Durban that they basically still in it after getting beaten for 4 and 1/3 days.

Probably India. They silenced all critics and fought till the end, even though their bowling sucked day 4-5. They pushed SA back and gave a great test match. No meek surrender, this was a fight and I for one am proud. India will also be gutted though. 450+ was more than enough.

I didnt see the match live but smith could have send a message to them if he was desperate.
