Pioneer Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Recently started following news on Kejriwal, and though I will admit my knowledge on him and his party is fairly limited, seems to be a breath of fresh air on Indian politics ( or not ? ) Just wanted to know what sort of clout does he have in the country as of today and what are his views on foreign policy. Specifically on countries such as Pakistan and China. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in any way and sure I could just google all this but wheres the fun in that
South_Paw Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 For now, he hasn't much spoken about Foreign Policies as AAP is only a regional party at the moment.
Clarke Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 what are his views on foreign policy. Specifically on countries such as Pakistan and China. Will be decided in parliament panchayat. Most likely it will mean arming the forces with the latest stones, sticks and swords to teach any rogue neighbor a lesson :winky:
Tiger80 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Kejriwal aur AAP ki popularity Pakistan bhi pahunch gayi
Pioneer Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Kejriwal aur AAP ki popularity Pakistan bhi pahunch gayi Don't know about popularity but he's definitely making the waves
yoda Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 His party was formed out of a grass roots movement to fight corruption and is mainly focused on domestic agenda.
Number Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 One of the prime members of party is of the view that Kashmir should be gifted to Pakistan. Noob party with a naive leader and rabid hooligans as workers/supporters who think of themselves as some sort of divine power coming to grace India with 100% clean governance in quick time. Biggest joke is after the world most corrupt political party has got thier @ss whooped in 4 state elections, a lot of their supporters have got Aam Aadmi (100% clean party) printed on their caps in place of Congress.
Pioneer Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 His party was formed out of a grass roots movement to fight corruption and is mainly focused on domestic agenda. So is it wrong to compare it to Imran Khan's PTI ?
Sachin=GOD Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 they are going to fight corruption in Delhi and their first act was to take the support of the Congress (the most corrupt party in India) to form the Govt.
randomGuy Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 So is it wrong to compare it to Imran Khan's PTI ? Yes, very wrong 1. Imran could learn humility from Arvind. Imran is probably one of the least humble persons I've seen on TV. 2. Arvind has engineering plus administrative background. Imran comes from sports. 3. Arvind doesn't have to talk abt terrorism, appease taliban etc. 4. Imran has failed once in national elections. Arvind hasn't yet. 5. India is 6-7 times larger than pak and supposedly secular(less religion-centric than pak).

What you've mentioned are mostly personal attributes to IK, not that you're wrong , you're entitled to your opinion. I meant comparing them more in the sense of a new party and face in politics getting thrust into the limelight. When IK was trying to get a hold of the masses he also focused alot on domestic issues and only really started moving onto topics such as the TTP and terrorism when he realised he'd broken into the system.
yoda Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 So is it wrong to compare it to Imran Khan's PTI ? They both have a common anti-establishment agenda, however AAP is a modest outfit with most members including Kejriwal coming from relative obscure corners, with no money or fame to back them. They just won a bunch of seats in their first elections (local Delhi assembly), came as the 2nd largest party, will be forming a govt cause they were challenged to do so by the other established parties, so they can see AAP fail. AAP called their bluff and agreed to form a minority government.

When IK was trying to get a hold of the masses he also focused alot on domestic issues and only really started moving onto topics such as the TTP and terrorism when he realised he'd broken into the system. My impression is that Imran's party probably didn't get as many seats nationally because of his policies, because of his personality. He got cast as a representative of KPK region (being a pathan too). ( I know very less. Maybe you can enlighten me, but I guess the Qadri guy, if he'd opened a party, would have been far more acceptable to pak aawam??) Arvind has done a lot more work on ground for ex. getting RTI passed, struggling for lokpal bill. These are some basic differences why comparison isn't probably apt. The origins are probably similar which are disillusionment with current state of affairs.

urbestfriend Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Will be decided in parliament panchayat. randomGuy Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Interesting' date=' any specific reasons as to why/how they won the bunch of seats ?[/quote'] 3 of the many reasons - 1.excellent campaigning. 2.excellent visibility on TV. 3.Their origins lie in the struggle for Lokpal(anti-corruption) bill which the govt. didn't pass for far too long.
theindian Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Kejriwal a name which sparks in every Indian's and definitely we really supported him and finally he won. We have got a CM who is really works and living as a simple many and I hope he will do fantastic till their journey! I wish him all the best and thanks all who made a strong desire of all's comes true, B-> Thanks!
ganeshran Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 They are just a state party for now which won because of very effective campaigning and huge anti incumbency wave against Congress. I don't think they have stated any specific foreign policy stands but IMO their views are likely to be leaning towards the right as a hardline stand is popular and generally perceived to be "stronger" amongst the Indian public.
gaurav92 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Ghanta Foreign Policy AAP saale nautanki karna jaante hai sirf. Aur Indian public mein bewakoofon ki kami nahi, they think of him as a Messiah who will take all the possible steps to curb corruptions and solve people's problems at the earliest. Its not a child's play, but public ko kaun samjhaaye, woh toh bina koi consequences jaane, chhoti chhoti baat mein khush ho jaati hai :headshake: Aur yeh log saale, isi baat ka faayda uthakar, emotional baatein karke, apni laal maar rahe hain, hum aam aadmi hai, falana denkana.
