gaurav92
For those who said playing 2 spinners was a suicidal decision..... Ashwin 1/47 in 10, while Jaddu 1/44 in his 9. While Raina into his 3rd over has given up less than 6 rpo. It was a flat wicket with some pace and bounce. Dhoni played on NZ weakness - Spin, NZ can't get on top of the spinners easily and he used them quite well to put the brakes on the scoring rate upto some extent. Where the pace bowlers are going well over 6.5-7 rpo, this performance from spinners in the middle overs have made sure India do not chase 400+ score. Had there been an extra pacer in the form of Ishant Sharma, 400 was on the cards I am not saying he is the coolest captain and stuff that his fanboys say, but I think it was a wise decision as it turns out to play 2 spinners. Plus of course, Ashwin can bat as well and get some handy runs in the end if required. Link to comment
