BeautifulGame Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 As indicated in the poll do you agree with BCCI's demand for greater share in ICC revenue? From cricinfo The BCCI working committee was insistent on not yielding ground on the matter revenue distribution. The proposal recommends a maximum allotment of 21% of the ICC's revenues to the BCCI on the grounds that Indian cricket helps generate 80% of ICC's global revenues. The draft proposal, when handed out to the Full Member nations at a specially called board meeting in Dubai on January 9, did not however contain any supporting documentation for its current revenue distribution percentages or future estimates. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/712253.html Honestly i dont see why should we keep on handouts to boards like PCB or SLC when they are corrupt to the core and waste money like this http://www.tamilguardian.com/article.asp?articleid=5091 http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-05-24/top-stories/29577568_1_salary-wasim-bari-cc-car Its time other boards start being self sufficent and not being soley dependent on tours from India to run their administration imo.
Marut Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I would like to know the corresponding figures of other nations before taking a stand. I am for equality between all nations, and each nation is entitled to take what is proportional to its contribution to the game. But under no conditions a team that is doing badly should find itself in division one - this law just sucks.
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I don't care about revenue sharing but 2 tier tests is unworkable.
Deleted_User_1 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Anytime I see Srini mama's thobra, I want to wipe that face with my shyt!!
bangladeshifan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 actually i do. take all the money you want just let us play please. we just started to improve :((
adi B Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 i dont give a damn!!but test cricket should be played the way it has been over the years.sreeni is a massive ****!!
hhhhdmt Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 If BCCI want a larger revenue, a good argument can be made for that The problem i have is with the power sharing agreement, the two tier system and the relegation clause which are all fundementally unfair. Not to mention the threats of India pulling out of ICC events. In short, they are just trying to control cricket. Its disgraceful.
G_B_ Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 actually i do. take all the money you want just let us play please. we just started to improve :(( dude the bcci just went out of its way to support you and have the asia cup in your country despite pakistan wanting to pull out. calm down, yes the bcci will play BD
Pagalpanti Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Def agree, one thing BCCI should get full credit for is the domestic setup. A decade ago, it was in shambles, people were questioning Ranji's status. The quality of domestic cricket and infrastructure has increased drastically. The money they earn is definitely being put to good use. The Associations as well are running well. If this goes onto make domestic cricket even more better, then hell yea they deserve to get a large chunk given India provides 80% of the share.

The clamor for power is more from ACB and ECB
Pagalpanti Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 BCCI threat is only if the revenue system is not met. The clamor for power is more from ACB and ECB Doubt it.. BCCI can't risk India getting relegated which isn't as far fetched as it may seem now. Moreover with BCCI losing the support of CSA and Asian bloc not being the same like it was during 90s. BCCI has changed sides with the other 2 powerful boards. Also the FTP idea just lets BCCI dictate how long IPL will be and opens more avenues for T20 leagues/tournaments.
hhhhdmt Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 BCCI might just be trying to increase the length of IPL. I simply don't understand why so many here are in favour of three countries virtually controlling the sport. The two tier system and relegation system is flat out wrong and unfair to all other nations. BCCI has a good claim for higher revenues. Nothing else though. The powe sharing proposal is disgraceful behaviour from ECB, CA AND BCCI.
Zap_Brannigan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 While i agree that BCCI should get a larger share of the ICC revenue (as should the general development fund), the whole power hungry changes mentioned the draft is taking it too far. Larger percentage of profit - Absolutely. Cancelling FTP - Good. FTP + ICC tournaments takes up more than 50% of the cricket season every year. I would rather have less World T20, Champions trophy(but ICC wouldnt remove the yearly ICC tournaments) and more series against Aus/Eng/SA. This would also mean that India doesnt have to reciprocate every tour and can have multi team tournaments again. 2 Tier system - Good but there shouldnt be an protection to any team. I dont understand why India would even want a protection slot since even if they go to tier 2, every team would still love to play with India. Having BCCI/ECB/CA officials take over - Nope.
mancalledsting Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Just remember, cricket is not like table tenis where you can fold up 1/2 of the playing surface and play against yourself. Indian victories are only as sweet as the quality of opposition we beat. If we suck the life out of other boards, sure we'll have better players than them, but what is the pleasure of beating the hell out of teams like Bangladesh (which is the quality other teams will be reduced to after this plan gets in). Also these dumbass BCCI baaboos are shooting themself in the foot. What would the IPL be without B MacCullums first game blistering knock or ABDV's reverse sweep sixes or Chris Gayle's 30 ball century or Malingas death bowling. All the IPL stars mentioned may not have even come from those countries without funding for their development systems. Eventually ppl will get bored if they keep turning up to watch the epic battle of Rajat Bhatia vs Suresh Raina. And the IPL will implode as a product. It's a cheap thrill format which has almost reached saturation point anyway. Either the baaboos are really thick and don't understand cricket or they just have a 10 year plan to hoard what they can into their personal accounts leaving the game in tatters for future generations.
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 BCCI is only worried about the money, they will be happy if they get the 21%,the best course of action is for all countries to work out a deal withe big 3 where they get the suggested revenue but make sure everybody gets a say in the ICC.
veer Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 So who proposed this new plan? I didnt read anywhere about that.
hhunaeh Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 332 crores to 5000 crores BCCI eyes Rs 5000 crore chunk from ICC pie NEW DELHI: The BCCI is looking to make at least Rs 5000 crore - close to 21% of ICC's revenue - from ICC's revenues between 2015 and 2023 if the new draft proposals are cleared. "As per BCCI's calculations, the board could make Rs 5000 crore in the coming eight years," a top BCCI official told TOI on Thursday. Between 2007 and 2015, BCCI is likely to make around Rs 332 crore ($52m) from all commercial gains of the ICC, an amount unacceptable to the Indian board which generates most of ICC's revenues. "If more than 80% of the money is coming from India, there is no reason why we should get only 4% of the total revenue," the official explained.
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 332 crores to 5000 crores BCCI eyes Rs 5000 crore chunk from ICC pie bcci is not going to let this go,there is no use fighting it and a lot of boards are already realizing it.

All countries eg Pak, Sri Lanka, NZ should have to account for and justify their handouts that they receive but that should not mean they deserve a smaller chunk. Board members of all countries are custodians of the game and it is their duty to serve the best interests of cricket at large and promote the welfare of the global game- unless they have some undisclosed pecuniary interest!
