Even such logical positions get you folk angry? i agree on no relegation part. Ie everybody should be open to relegation nobody spared.

In the eyes of the rest of the world, Indian cricket would be a laughing stock and when events like the world cup take place, the Indian public would wishing their team was playing and no doubt revolt against BCCI and force them to merge back.

Play them like packer did. Instead of playing Australia, we will play Australians......

However its interested that the ECB made very little profit because its reinvests the money into grass roots and club/county cricket whereas it seems the BCCI doesnt do this nearly as much Don't know where you got the numbers from but 85% of ICC's revenue comes from BCCI and around 5% from England.

I have seen an old financial report that has both BCCI and ECB earning the same. I am not sure if its pre-IPL or post-IPL. Both BCCI and ECB gets around 120 million $ per year from tv rights of International cricket + domestic tournaments. But BCCI gets 100 million from IPL and another 50 million from Champions trophy. I am not sure how ECB makes up for the extra 150 miilion $ from its superior gate money. I think ECB gets more from sponsors but the difference is probably less than 10 million. This is the main reason BCCI wants more from ICC and wants to cancel FTP. Indian gate receipts for 6 odd test matches and 15 ODIs per year amount to very little as its all in the TV rights for India. Host nations hold the tv rights to Indian games and ICC to its tournaments. Both get huge amount of money from selling it to Indian TV channels and not so much from other countries.

"BCCI used to pay more than half-and-million dollars as guarantee money for inviting teams like the West Indies and Australia home. That time no one had a problem," a top BCCI official told TOI on Friday. In fact, BCCI claimed that some of the top boards were against India's participation at the 1983 World Cup in India as then captain Kapil Dev's team wasn't producing good results. Now, things have changed. With more than 80% money used in cricket coming from India, BCCI is eyeing a bigger chunk from ICC's revenue as India apparently needs to spend more on the game than any other Test playing nation. Regarding BCCI's demand on continuing with the Champions Trophy, the Board said it BCCI that conceptualized the tournament in the first place. "And it should continue. In between, ICC introduced more than eight teams for the tournament. Last year in England, it was a great success because only the top eight teams took part in the event," the official explained. "Cricket is big here compared to any other nation and BCCI needs money to popularize the game. What the Indian board is asking the ICC is not something unacceptable.
