Magneto Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 dont just go by stats there are numerous instances where the bowler looks good,in rhythm but dhoni decides to replace him after 2 ovrs, umesh in durban, aaron yesterday when he picked wkt,he was replaced immediately..he doesn't even finishes their quota, there are plenty of instances like shami bowled 9 in kochi vs aus where he was the pick, dhoni's main aim is to finish the 50 ovrs in time and for that he's willing to bowl on with part timers even at the expense of his main pacers.. dhoni is the perfect example of how to let the game drift away,i am not saying that these bowlers are good but i can equally vouch that dhoni's handling of fast bowlers is pathetic!! that durban odi was the perfect example to state that dhoni had officially lost his mind, bowled part timers like rainia, kohli in 10th,12th ovr when umesh was given just 2 ovrs (just conceded 9),shami bowled just 3 but pishant who was the most expensive bowled the most 4 ovrs!! Oh, no one is saying that Dhoni is perfect. Dhoni has more than his share of blunders, but the fact that our bowlers bowl brainlessly is equally valid. In fact, if you do a search on ICF (which has the most elite, intelligent and prudent cricket fans in India), you will find the word 'brainless' a few million times and 98% times it's used for some phhhast bowler or the other. Dhoni has just formally used a expression which is an open secret in the country.
Magneto Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Thats because there is no plan.Only time u saw indian bowlers having some plans is during venkys reign and under dravid. So the onus is on the bowler to come up with a plan, no? Bhuvi used to plan his dismissals immaculately in his first few matches (like bowling 5 outswingers and an inswinger suddenly), but I don't know what has happened to him now.
CG Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Dhoni was a t.c ,I think aaron is better educated than him even in cricketing terms aaron speaks sense.

Regarding Bhuvi his success came on conditions which helped swing bowling and against Subcontinent batsman.Batsman from outside play his type of bowling well.He never had a good out swinger he depends heavily on the in swinger and the length he is bowling too short.

Pagalpanti Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 If our pacers were rubbish we would not have won CT' date='Wc 2011[Munaf.zAK'] Every test series in india from 2007-2011 where Zak,Ishant,Sreesanth,R.p singh all won us matches. If Dhoni had nothing to do with those wins in WC and CT as you say they were because our pacers were good. Why pin everything on Dhoni now? Do the bowlers suddenly feel the need to be spoon-fed as to where to bowl?

asterix Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Don't forget the Spinner's contribution in those 300 runs scored by opposition...

Do the bowlers suddenly feel the need to be spoon-fed as to where to bowl? When did i say dhoni had nothing to do with those wins. There is talent that need to be harnessed. Zak is one huge cog missing as when he was bowling well he was a huge help to other bowlers as well.

Time for him to assign some homework to everyone and drop them on that basis. I would be glad if some senior players come out and say that Dhoni is a **** captain, but if they do so, Srini Mama will stop their dana-pani

So if Bhuvi cannot adjust his length based on conditions, it's HIS fault and Dhoni has a right to get upset.
saneindian Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Dhoni was a t.c ' date='I think aaron is better educated than him even in cricketing terms aaron speaks sense.[/quote'] What a classless statement. Dhoni was a TC not due to choice but due to compulsion of earning money for his family. Has got ZERO connection to his cricketing acumen. If Aaron with all his education and "speaking sense" can achieve even half of what Dhoni has so far, he would have become our top 3 best ever bowler.
CG Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 So if Bhuvi cannot adjust his length based on conditions' date=' it's HIS fault and Dhoni has a right to get upset.[/quote'] Well be upset but not in public and why the hell was he not upset when we conceded 320 when ishant was playing and said we bowled well.

Somebody was saying our fast bowlers are not educated, thats why they struggle.
Lord Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 U do not go in with such plans as on these short boundaries and against batsman who play pull shots well u are going to get hammered.Bouncer should be used as surprise deliver against guys who pull well. They are not bowling to likes of raina .Also is bouncer the strength of aaron ? every batsman struggles if a bouncer is bowled right.boundaries are even shorter straight down so bowling full all the time is risky too. Bouncer should be the strength of a 145+ bowler no?
Forever Indian Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Only a captain who has done the following in a must-win game can make such a statement: - Making the team a batsman and bowler short by including Binny (effectively making us a 10 man team) - Chopping Dhawan and making the best ODI No.3 change his slot - Giving fast bowlers 2 over spells in the first 15 overs

Bouncer should be the strength of a 145+ bowler no? In nz side boundaries are short and u have to see what is strength of batsman.U can bowl short to dekock as he just gets on the front foot which we never did and do not bowl short to guys who play the pull shot well.Even if you do use it as surprise weapon.
Magneto Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Well be upset but not in public and why the hell was he not upset when we conceded 320 when ishant was playing and said we bowled well. Heh, he has the right to get upset wherever he wishes to. He need not be politically correct all the time, specially if he is speaking the truth.
