His consistentcy is amazing, but the point was even the finest player of this modern era has a few points added to his average by playing weak sides. FTR, SRT averages 42 v RSA and Pakistan. I joke about Indian bowling at times, but it is superior to Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. At home, India's spinners are a real challenge. India is a traditional cricketing nation and is included. Z/B are joke sides, esp Bangladesh. Zimbabwe were once not so bad with the Flower brothers, Streak, Houghton, Strang et al. BD are a joke and would not win the country championship.

Much better then Zim and BD. Solid at home as they have been for a long time now. They have had some decent bowlers - Murali obviously, but also Vaas, Malinga, Herath and from older vintage Ratnayake, De Mel and so on.

Mahela is a great player and this nonsense that he needs to show his worth against sides away from subcontinent is utter crap. This guy rarely played against those sides and when he played mostly they were one off test matches unlike Border who had many more chances. 100 Allan Borders wont match Mahela's classy elegance and this guy once he is in can score big hundreds which Border could only dream .
