This guy rarely played against those sides and when he played mostly they were one off test matches unlike Border who had many more chances. 100 Allan Borders wont match Mahela's classy elegance and this guy once he is in can score big hundreds which Border could only dream . Jayawardene is a good batsmen - excellent at home and only moderate overseas. His numbers are so skewed as to be undeniable. Esp if one adjusts for B/Z.

If he was a grafter like Samaraweera and had similar stats, critics would have dismissed him as a FTB long ago
