Rebel Agent Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Any truth to this? Fleming was one of NZ's greatest captains, a shrewd tactician and planner and not to mention a gun batsman, along the lines of John Wright and Gary Kirsten, India would do very well to get him in as coach and every time I have heard him speak he knows what he is talking about, a lot of Indian players are big wraps on him as well.
Asim Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hire Whatmore... He just got free as well as now has the 'experience' to coach most 'difficult' cricketing side in the world...
Pakistan Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hiring Fleming will complete CSK mafia takeover of Indian team. Whatmore and A. Flower need new gigs too.
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hire Whatmore... He just got free as well as now has the 'experience' to coach most 'difficult' cricketing side in the world... Heard that he wants to relax after coaching your team for 2 years and he is working in Dubai Cricket academy or something similar to that .
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Get Andy Flower !!!!!!!! His style of coaching won't work here he is a control freak and it will be Greg Chappel Part 2
asterix Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Get Andy Flower !!!!!!!! Not possible... The incumbent coach should be a yes-man to Dhoni, which Flower can't...
Straight Drive Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Fleming,i guess, has experience of coaching CSK as well ?
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Fleming' date='i guess, has experience of coaching CSK as well ?[/quote'] Won't become a full time coach when he already makes so much in 2 months plus he has a family business
theindian Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Fleming is the better choice as observes. Anyone, may correct me I have not much Idea so, you are welcome for correction....Sports News India
G_B_ Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 We need somebody like Chappell. A coach who can work with youth.
Cricket_Hacker Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 new coach can't do anything........our captain is a stubborn mule
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 We need somebody like Chappell. A coach who can work with youth. Fully agree GB I feel now that maybe Greg had the right idea but the way he executed his plans was wrong
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 new coach can't do anything........our captain is a stubborn mule Virat and Ray Jennings combo might work as well surely after 2015 MS won't be the captain
G_B_ Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 One problem with Chappell was he always wanted to make money on the side. Releasing Guru Gregs instructional videos and basically being a media *****. How about we offer Greg 1 million USD and say if you talk to the media, release a dumb feck video or make any money out of indian outside this salary you are going to be destroyed. Another problem was that Dravid was a weak skipper. He got pushed over by chappell. With Dhoni you will have somebody to stand upto him. Some coaches like Kirsten bring out of best out of established sides. Gary brought in not much new blood to the set up. While other coaches like Chappel are good for bringing through youth. India needs somebody who can work with the youngsters. On paper thats exactly what Fletcher did with England when he took over. The likes of Anderson Bell and KP came through in the Vaughan-Fletcher era. Yes Fletcher made a big mistake with Swann. But he brought through the youth. You get a feeling that Fletcher has no input on selection to team India and Dhoni is just to powerful and makes all the calls. Chappel is just too red blooded to basically sit back and let Dhoni make the calls. Fletcher might actually work extremely well with somebody like Kohli. A young captain who listens a lot more.

You make some good points
Switchblade Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Csk connections might get him there. Flem is a smart fella coaching Indian team is a different thing altogether plus the amount of travelling pressure and scrutiny he won't be a full time coach
