Switchblade Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 You guys can talk about the CSK influence all you want, but Fleming would be an awesome coach for team India. He is one of the best tacticians of the game ever, and is in the Gary Kirsten mould. He is young and can connect with our players. Besides, CSK has had the most success of any franchise for a reason. and the CSK players in the team - Jadeja, MSD, Vijay in tests etc - are all performing consistently. obviously chennai players and fleming are doing something right. Thing is Fleming already makes so much in 2 months and being a head coach will require him to be away from his family and he will be travelling all the time don't think he will accept it plus he already said this back in 2010-2011 don't remember when he has a family business and coaching CSK so he is happy with it.

Warne will be more of a showman he would like to have the spotlight on him and I can see lot of issues if he becomes the coach would like to have Langer or Jennings.

Ganguly did the same in 2004-2005 he was going against John Wright even during that home series against Pakistan he went to bat at 5 in that 4th ODI at Ahmedabad where Wright wanted Kaif/Yuvraj to bat ahead of him.So you have to accept this that over here in sub continent its the skipper who calls the shots.

Skipper should always call there shots.But dhoni does not believe in planning as dravid said and coach captain have to give and take .

cricketman Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Please......don't use the IPL as a series barometer for anything....... agreed. but take a look at those who are commonly accused at being in the team only because of a so called 'CSK' effect. those are usually the ones who perform most consistently for team india anyway.

Rajput was our manager when we won T20 WC and CB Series plus the likes of Msd , Gauti , RP , Rohit or just say we had a young and hungry team so he worked or meshed well with the young team if you want him you need a young team who have the hunger to do well. In favour of T.A because he will understand our bowlers psyche why not pay him than spend $$$$$ on Dawes ( not his hater).

Apart from a bit of perspective and assuming that they wont come with any baggage or bias or any strong links with our admin/establishment. I don't as much buy the 'more professional' argument - varied thought process-approach maybe 'cause u wont find a langer in our setup. Reason I wanted Langer was because if I'm not wrong he as a batsman was successfull overseas and if BCCI and our players start giving importance to the overseas tour and again if he is appointed he can teach our batsman on how to construct an innings overseas.Plus he was a hardworking cricketer and batsman so in favour of him as he can fit in that Wright/Kirsten category .

Younger and more inexperienced than the one he last coached. Would be a priceless time to have him now and Yadav developed into a better bowler after that sting with Saker in Daredevils. Has been a lot more accurate and sensible since that CLT20 and IPL. Saker knows what he is doing with the bowlers. Dawes. I din't even know who the **** he was until he was named as our coach.
