PCB oppose Big Three proposals

The PCB has strongly opposed the move to revamp the global game and called it "neither in line with principle of equity nor in the interest of game of cricket". The announcement came after a meeting of its governing board, presided by PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, who had been present at the ICC meeting in Dubai last week to discuss the radical proposals which will give the Big Three countries a larger portion of ICC revenues and more of a say in the game's administration. "The Board Members deliberated and expressed serious concerns on the model proposed by BCCI, ECB and CA which was neither in line with principle of equity nor in the interest of game of cricket," a PCB press release said. "The Board has reiterated the position that Chairman PCB request audience with the Patron of PCB, H.E the Prime Minister to apprise him on this matter of immense significance and of national interest which will have wide reaching impact on future of cricket in Pakistan." Ashraf said last week that he wanted all decisions to be taken through consensus, and didn't want the proposals to be approved hastily. "The Board appreciated and supported the stance taken by Chairman PCB at the last ICC Board meeting at Dubai. The Board authorised Chairman PCB Mr. Zaka Ashraf and COO Mr. Subhan Ahmad to engage with other Board members to align the common position and take other requisite remedial measures in the interest of cricket in Pakistan." After the Dubai meeting, the ICC had said its Executive Board "unanimously supported" a set of principles which were more or less along the lines of the original proposal, though there were some concessions granted to the members outside the Big Three. The only purpose the Lankan board exists in nowadays is to play India whenever we are free and send players for IPL.

PCB is the most greedy here. It wants others to subsidize it and yet doesn't want to give up power. PCB can either stop asking for handouts or prove that it can run cricket by being successful in its own country. When you can't even run cricket in your own country, it makes no sense give the responsibility on the world level too. If any board can be termed not greedy, it would be a board that would have asked the ICC for a fair split (instead of this handout from India nonsense) long before this draft and now would fight for more funding to associate nations. Not one....not a single board has done that. Every one is equally greedy, except the BCCI which is still just asking for 21% when it should be getting much more if the split can be termed fair.

Srini said that India would start touring Pak again if they accepted this proposal. The small loss of ICC income would be offset and PCB would generate much more revenue from such tours. So you see PCB would actually gain financially if they signed on.

PCB has pretty much said that it would pass the proposal too if this BCCI proposal is legally binding. So the only difference between PCB and others is that the others have trusted BCCI's words. PCB is just waiting for it to be put in a piece of paper. Where is the principal in that?? If it had any principal at all, PCB would have said NO under every circumstance. Its not "No until India is legally bound to tour us". So fking stop this PCB is holier than thou attitude. Werent you the one who said that PCB doesnt need ICC money or an Indian tour in another thread? I found that ICC money is pretty much 40% of PCB TV rights revenue (without an Indian tour). Since you havent been back to that thread, i am repeating it here so you understand that PCB cannot live lavishly without ICC money. Even with the ICC money, Pak cricketers are the worst paid on International level and domestic cricketers even less so. PCB depends on others to get away without working properly. So unless PCB gets off their ass and start working towards being self reliant, all this talk is just fake grand gesturing and poor management.

Read the OP again ... PCB is unequivocally against the proposal and there is no talk about accepting ii if India tours. So fking stop making stuff up ?
