Sir Jadeja's brainless batting

This guy is in the team as an Allrounder and this is the 2nd time he triggered a collapse :facepalm: I mean what the F is he in the team for...Just Fielding :banghead: I still haven't forgiven him for that atrocious shot in the 2nd test in S.A. Even today,fine he took some chances and it paid off....Couldn't he have just settled down as he is still recognised as a batsmen.....Seriously mindless stuff from him. And the mindFeck here is I have seen him play with more restraint in T20 and ODI's :WTF:

I think this was a plan between Dhoni and him that he will attack and Dhoni will stay to try to reduce target. Thus continued when Zaheer came. He is a limited batsman

Don't think he can survive by defending. This will work for him better than surviving. He doesn't have the technique to survive for long periods by defending. he will throw the bat around when there is attacking field. He may or may not connect a few. He is not like say Irfan pathan who has sound defensive technique. I still remember at the age of 19 Irfan played Mcgrath brilliantly scoring 55 and stayed there for more than 4 hours.

Can't really blame him. He got India back into the game when the approach worked for him. He lived by the sword and died by it. The problem was our middle order where Kohli, Rohit & Rahane couldn't score a big one despite a great platform laid out for them and left lower order & tail too much to do.

I always thought he was a fantastic utility player in Limited over formats even before his Rebirth as Sir Jadeja but it is sad that he occupies a test slot as an allrounder

It was some good counter attacking and played some excellent shots but I get the impression he gets carried away sometimes. Should have tried to take more singles and get as close to the total as possible without taking 2 or 3 risks every over. He already scored a boundary before he got out in the same over if I remember correctly.

His fielding alone will earn his spot :winky: . But you are right he has to work lot harder on his batting. He should bat like a proper batsman. he is young. He can learn. There are lot of guys who can help him out.

Counter Attacking and Brainless slogging have a thin line. If he had calmed down after his inital 20 and started taking singles and picking the right ball to go after that would be counter-attacking but his innings was very Afridi-esque.

You cant really blame him. He did his job although I felt he could have been a bit more sensible. His fielding is excellent and he bowls a very good line and length. He is very valuable in this side. The two quick wickets of Rahane and Rohit cost us the chase.

Jadeja is a genuine fighter. You can bet on that. Very aggressive mindset in nature. Ready for fight like a warrior despite his limitations. Having said that it wouldn't hurt for him to pay lot more attention to his batting. Especially against short balls, leaving the ball etc. Also he should back himself to score really big like 70 or 80 runs.

That I agree with. No. 7 is too high for Jadeja. He should be 8 both in odis & tests but unfortunately we don't have a decent all-rounder and we are forced to play Jadeja at 7 to get the balance right. But in this Test he did play at 8 and for no. 8 he did ok.

I think Jadeja is a much better batsman than he gives himself credit for. He has the shots needs to work on a few aspects of the game, could be a handy player.

If this was his first then I would have given him the benefit of doubt but it's 2 in 2 and makes it worse because he bats at a pretty critical Slot. Anyways he is not the scapegoat for this loss,but he needs to work on this fast
