diga Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 The Justice Mugdal report clearly says Meiyappan was the face of of CSK and has rejected N Srinivasan's contention about being a mere enthusiast. The report has given the name of the people involved in the probe in a confidential document to the SC. Justice Mugdal has also made a 10-point recommendation to the SC for a "cleaner game". This includes recruiting retd. armed forces personnel' date=' police officers and using former cricketing greats like Tendulkar, Kumble, Dravid, Ganguly, Laxman, [b']Venkatesh Prasad to educate cricketers. Please note that while all the focus is on Meiyappan, the Mugdal report says that Raj Kundra's role should also be investigated further. Prasad :hmmm:

May be people are not sent to jail but industries are closed, deals are reversed back and fines are given under the ambit of the law. Since you asked one example - I recently posted on the "Narendra Modi" thread on Chit Chat regarding how the SC came heavily down against Anandiben Patel, No.2 in Gujarat and future CM, on the inappropriate land deal of an oil refinery.

People like Prasad, Akash Chopra, Robin Singh etc. may not have been great players for India but they command respect from domestic young players who were basically the crux of the target for the IPL probe. I don't see anything wrong in it. I would also like to make another point. The Justice Mugdal report is a mere recommendation - it is up to the SC to decide whether to take it or not.

Does it terminate the CSK franchise? Does it send Gurunath to jail? Does it force Srini to sell the CSK franchise? or even before that, will there be a criminal trial? Is it possible to have a criminal trial.

But it may not have the power to dismiss the CSK franchise as it remains a private entity. The power to dismiss CSK will probably lay with the IPL governing council.

What happens now?
