If all goes according to his plan, Srinivasan is set to get re-elected. The groundwork has started and on the sidelines of the Indian Premier League auction the Tamil Nadu strongman made clear his intentions of continuing in the chair till 2017. Next, from 2014 to 2017, is the turn of East zone and all it requires is two state units from that zone to propose the name. With at least four associations on his side — Assam, Jharkhand, Tripura and Odisha — Srinivasan is sitting pretty with numbers. The remaining two votes are with Jagmohan Dalmiya, the Cricket Association of Bengal and the National Cricket Club. The only roadblock in Srinivasan’s continuation can be Dalmiya, given his renewed interest in the Board’s activities. But given the way the current balance of power is stacked in favour of Srinivasan, Dalmiya’s resistance may drown out in the number game, especially in front of Srinivasan’s now-famous tactics of getting people on his side through persuasion and inducements. Srinivasan’s grand design to remain in power till 2017 is not abrupt. He’s worked on it with a well calibrated plan. As the first step, he got the constitution of the BCCI amended, which earlier stipulated a three-year period for the president along the lines of a zonal rotational policy. But in September 2012, a constitutional amendment was effected by convening a special general meeting in Chennai. The zonal rotation policy was done away with. Now anyone can get nominated from any zone provided two state units from that zone propose the candidate’s name. In the absence of a suitable candidate from the East, originally it was presumed that the then DDCA chief, Arun Jaitley, will take over in the coming term. However, it now appears that Srinivasan has set his sights to stay in power till 2017 and his argument to convince the Board members is linked to the recent developments at the ICC. A very highly placed source said: “Now, that he is also the chairman designate at the ICC and will take over in the month of July, it is extremely important for him as well as for the BCCI that the Indian board accrues the benefit of having the same person at these two positions. To be well and truly in control of the ICC and the BCCI, it serves dual purpose: BCCI’s strong presence in the ICC to drive BCCI-tailored policiesâ€. Interesting times In an interview to HT on the day the ICC appointed Srinivasan as the chairman, he claimed that there is no provision in the ICC or the BCCI that can constitutionally impede in discharging both duties, “Not to my knowledge so far as both the constitutions are concerned,†Srinivasan had said. A member of the faction which recently had a fall out with Srinivasan sounded a little cautious, “We knew that he wanted to continue after 2014, but he must also keep an eye on the general elections. If the BJP comes into power then it will be interesting to see what stance Jaitley takes.†The Mudgal report is out, there’s an ongoing conflict of interest case being fought in court and then there’s a strong opposition in the cricketing world over the ICC’s Position Paper. Yet Srinivasan remains untouched. It won’t be surprising to see him gliding through the maze of oppositions and pull off another trick to head the BCCI till 2017. :afraid::afraid::afraid::afraid::afraid:

Dont know about debt mamas issues..always companies show loss..happens everwhere. But even after doing mindblowing cheating in a sports organization,same criminal keep on continuing as chairman is the first time i am reading :((
