putrevus Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 where did I say he bowled well in NZ?He didn't.but did well in SA so deserved a chance here.we can't drop players by one bad match performances. Did i say he needed to be dropped, all i said was him taking those six wickets is not a big deal when other team scores 500 runs. They were bowling to players who are suspect against spinners but both of them don't have the guile to beat batsmen in the air or make batsmen have step out of the crease . Both of them have proved to very ineffective unless pitches help them. We had guy like Sehwag taking wickets on Perth wicket using angle and flight, so how are we supposed to judge these two guys. These guys if they had done what Sehwag did in Perth Indians would be 1-1 in both series atleast. I think Jadeja is like Monty if pitches have bite he will be deadly because he bowls fast and is accurate but otherwise he will be struggling. Asking three Indian fast bowlers to take 20 wickets is recipe for disaster.
Junyfan Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Ojha is India best test spinner,Ashwin is twenty twenty specialist.
Midfielder Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Ashwin is no specialist. He is overweight and underperforming spinner.
yoda Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 ^fastest in history to 100 test wickets, yes he is no specialist. :winky:
Midfielder Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 ^fastest in history to 100 test wickets' date=' yes he is no specialist. :winky:[/quote'] With no other spinner bowling in tandem. Cost the test series in South Africa that is something I do know.
SLICKR392 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 ^fastest in history to 100 test wickets' date=' yes he is no specialist. :winky:[/quote'] He can still be good enough if he keeps his bowling simple, but NOOOO.....perform some cl¨¢sico Tango and Salsa in the run up followed by a 5 minute pause to remember the number of vadas he had for breakfast and the next thing you know is the ball flying over his head.
Midfielder Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 It is hard for off spinners to take wkts unless they chuck blatantly like Murali and Ajmal.
rkt.india Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 on the same Durban pitch SA pacers did much better. anyway we can't drop guys after one bad performances..Jaddu deserved 2 matches atleast after that 6fer.Now Ashwin or Ojha may be tried v England So now you are comparing Indian trundlers to South African fast bowlers. They had 4 seamers to fall back upon. Look what happened to them as soon as one of them got injured. Effectiveness goes down if bowl more and it will be the case more often than not with 3 seamers. Expecting 3 seamers to pick 20 wickets per match, 7 wickets respectively every match is a joke. Even a pace bowling unit like SA wont do it regularly let alone our bowling.
