rkt.india
But has got much power than jaddu... hit two sixes without any ado whatsoever today' date=' that too balls which were no way "hittable"[/quote'] Doesn't look like he can play anything short. My spinner in Aus would be Karn Sharma and he can bat too. He needs to be tried ASAP to stake any claim. Did well in warmup too. If you need a bat at 7 then Jaddu. Link to comment
bowl_out
Seems as if it's not only Dhoni who believes in Kohlis bowling Kohli bowled himself for 5 balls to complete Aaron's over... Don't think he wants to bowl while captaining Link to comment
bowl_out
4 seamers and a spinner in Australia. Raina can do the same job. Binny? :--D Link to comment

I too like Karn Sharma should be given chances though Axar sees to be ahead of him. finally whatever you do it is going to be Jaddu and Ashwin bowling in World Cup Link to comment

Straight Drive
Bowling innings is one which captains have a major role to play. Fell asleep during our bowling innings. Is he even a slight improvement over Dhoni in ODI format captaincy? If yes, in what aspects did he fare better than Dhoni. Link to comment
renjith
axar is more accurate than jadeja. he is taller and getting more bounce and zip off the pitch as well. extremne accuracy + additional bounce + zip off teh pitch could be the factors which most batsmen who played him so far found difficult to get after. on current form axar is a better bet than jaddu in wc as first choice spinner. ashwin with his finger spin and zero turn could be a failure in aus pitches. a wrist spinner (karn sharma) who is more attacking than ashwin is a far better option in aus pitches. raina can be the off spinning option if the selectors show common sense axar and karn sharma should be the 2 spinners in wc team. EVEN ASHWIN was the same when he came on.TALL and got some good turn with bounce. ..a little ineffective now. Hope axar does not turn on to be a ASHWIN part 2 Link to comment
HIC_NAA
MSD has always said that he likes to have players who have played atleast 100 matches. So, my feeling is except fast bowlers, we would still have Jaddu and ashwin as spinners. Link to comment
zubinpepsi
India's pace attack on right track, says Kohli "I've been very impressed with Umesh since he came back from injury," Kohli said. "Ishant is experienced and he has bounced back after a not-so-good season in ODIs last year. "But Umesh has pace and he can trouble batsmen even on flat wickets. He's working on his death-bowling. Ishant is a world-class bowler and it's great to see these guys bowling well near the World Cup. A strong pace attack is needed in Australia and we're on the right track." Others in India's pace stable include Varun Aaron, who was clocked bowling at over 150kph in Cuttack, and Dhawal Kulkarni, the right-arm medium-pace bowler. "Varun's pace is an advantage but Umesh is doing the same. Ishant can bowl in the 140kph-range as well. Shami is also quick. Dhawal is not quick but he can be consistent. Bhuvi can swing both ways - things are looking bright for us going into the World Cup." The attack has variety, with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja turning the ball either way, and the spin stocks also run deep. Left-arm spinner Akshar Patel has five ODI wickets at 21.80 so far. Encouragingly, Kohli said, many of the frontline bowling options are capable of contributing with the bat as well. "We have a few people coming in now. Ashwin has been more than good with the bat, and everyone knows Jadeja can be a perfect allrounder for us," he said. "Akshar has a very good temperament and is a strong contender. Binny is there as well. Any of these four people, or Karn Sharma, can be very handy. Any of these people can be the star for us. We have a lot of options." refreshing to read the Kohlis comments on the bowlers..much more assertive than captain Tony Link to comment
