Mitchell Johnson also began his career as an ace. Then lost it before coming back. Aaron has not began his career well. not saying Aaron cannot bounce back, but rather IMO its futile to compare him to Johnson.
And the worse thing is he averages 34 per wicket in FC games. Does not board well for him. Against the same set of competition, the much maligned Viany averages 25 per wicket playing many more games. Go figure.

He did not play that regularly before this year only 11 matches in 3-4 seasons due to injuries which did not help him and he did play longer this season and his average was already down to 34 from 41 before this season. He averaged around 20 this season.

The jury is still out on Aaron. Let us be fair to him. I have no problems with that. But being injury prone does not help. Hope he will not be consigned to the long list of pace hopefuls that have come and gone. As of now he does not look promising to me.

Any bowler who can hit 150K is promising, ask any cricket expert who has played the game of cricket. Other things can be learned and should be taught by the support management we have like coaches methodically. We lack the concept of methodical practice. We bowl in the nets so that batsmen can practice playing quicker bowlers, more than so that bowlers could harness their skills in the nets.

If I am a selector, I will first look for pace in a fast bowler. Every other skill can be taught and learned. Pace is natural and the anatomy of the bowler will set the upper limits on a bowler's pace. Not all bowlers can bowl fast. If you are selecting a trundler to begin with, don't expect him to be a world class pace bowler in future. Aaron may go for runs initially, but drop him only if he does not keep improving in future. Give him at least 10-15 matches to establish himself.

FOLKS PLEASE Support Varun at this time...he has proved he can bowl fast- getting his line n length is not a very big challenge, it will happen no worries.

Give him at least 10-15 matches to establish himself.[/quote'] Agree, a fast bowler is invaluable as he can be the enforcer and turn a game in an over a trundler gets wkts when the batter makes an error but a fast bowler causes the batter to make error, Aaron has the ability to take a 5 for and has done well before his injury
