The problem is not just the lack of genuine turners,. In the rare case that we find a genuine turner, he will play IPL, T20I, ODI before he even gets a look in to the Test side. These shorter formats nowadays don't encourage genuine turners and spinners lose their attacking nature. Nathan Lyon has essentially become the best spinner in the world at the moment. This is partly because of the global decline in spin quality, but a lot of credit must go to Lyon and the Australian selectors who kept Lyon solely in Test cricket. Indian cricket does not have the same foresight.

There are many promising spinners in the domestic tournament ie Rasool,Nadeem,Rahul Sharma,Shreyas Gopal,Jalaj Saxena,Amit Yadav,Karan Sharma etc.Instead of sticking with 3 spinners,selectors should increase the pool & should select some young spinners in the squad.

Can give an example, Murugan Ashwin, young leg spinner from Tamilnadu, who played one game in the just concluded season, but dropped because he was inconsistent and leaked runs though he was turning the ball big and left arm spinner Srinivas was preferred over him after that. Most teams now prefer economical spinners rather than an attacking one and left armers do that. How are we going to produce them, if they aren't encouraged.
