All you people shouting here should know that this law is only meant for Bangladeshi people and does not concern any foreigners.

Switchblade Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad said the move violated the spirit of the game. "I am surprised at the decision," Miandad told AFP. "Cricket is a game which harbours sportsman spirit and this decision violates that spirit." Another former captain, Mohammad Yousuf, urged the BCB to rethink. "I am sure that the BCB will take this decision back because it defies logic and I am sure the International Cricket Council will seek some explanation," Yousuf said. Younis Khan, another former captain, agreed Bangladesh should reconsider their decision. "It is against the spirit of the game as you cannot stop anyone from supporting his favourite team," he said. http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/62341/former-pakistan-greats-criticise-bangladesh-flag-ban
KeyboardWarrior Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 BD govt reversed the decision :D Source ? .... :dontknow:
cricket_blood Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Generation of razakars...they go hand in hand with Jamaatis. Supporting Pak even against BD is traitor-esque stuff. +1 so true..hate these F***ing traitors..should be sent to their pakland.forever
IndianRenegade Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 First this: and Still cant Understand why (Few) ICFers have problem if BD fans Supporting Pakistan in any match .... and who are they to Judge BD fans ??? And then this Wheres the freedom of Expression gone ??? I wont mind if some BD fans supports Indian team .... :dontknow: I guess ICFers are just exercising their freedom of expression. Got a problem with that?
KeyboardWarrior Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I guess ICFers are just exercising their freedom of expression. Got a problem with that? You (Few ICFers) are exercising this freedom of expression for yourself .... thats good thing . but you (Few ICFers) dont like BD fans to exercise this freedom of expression ? (Just read previous two pages of this thread) I was just asking simple question, if you like freedom of expression for yourself thn why you dont like same thing for others ? Simple .... So, got a problem with that ? ....
IndianRenegade Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 You (Few ICFers) are exercising this freedom of expression for yourself .... thats good thing . but you (Few ICFers) dont like BD fans to exercise this freedom of expression ? (Just read previous two pages of this thread) I was just asking simple question, if you like freedom of expression for yourself thn why you dont like same thing for others ? Simple .... So, got a problem with that ? .... Well, they are expressing an opinion that if some BD fans are right in 'exercising their freedom of expression'. You can either agree with these ICFers opinion or disagree. But you decided to question their right to express an opinion on BD fans, which is still fine. I am just saying they have a right to express their opinion. None of them are doing anything physically to stop BD fans from doing anything. BTW, you can continue to question who these ICFers are to judge BD fans... I have no problems. I am just saying they don't have to be anybody to pass comments on BD fans...
Asim Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Generation of razakars...they go hand in hand with Jamaatis. Supporting Pak even against BD is traitor-esque stuff. Yeah so true, Supporting a dushman country cricket, what a shame... actually new generation dont even know who their dushman is so yes I guess some proper hate should regularly be injected into them so that they can stay away from such traitor-esque stuff...
Tiger-Don Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I personally think that what ever happen in history should stay in history. Pakistan and Bangladesh had a deep history. But the people who did it that time are not running the country at the moment. I see no point of hating a nation over what it did in the past. Because regardless of what the nation did' date=' it was the people who were running it that time who did it.[b']Therefore the people who are saying that its a disgrace for Bangali's to wave the flag of Pakistan. Should go and drink a hot coffee and just move on from this hate. Cricket is a sport that should unite all nations and used to see each nation in a lighter way, not the total opposite way. honey chld, maybe you dont get it. Bangalis ont be allowed to wave anyone elses flag except their own. no one specifically mentioned Pakistans flag waving. again, if you're from india or pakistan, you're allowed to fly your own. no problems at all. And if were bengali, and you saw a fellow bengali mate waving the pakistani flag, it would hurt. it would hurt a lot. true stuff.
Tiger-Don Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Queen Bee i understand that point' date=' What I am trying to say is that. What ever happen in history happen. We cant change what we did in the past. But what we can do now is change the future. What ever happen in that war was a huge loss to not just your people but to humanity itself. This rule was made for Bangali's I am well aware of that. But that does'nt mean I agree with it. Why? because I feel every person deserves freedom to support what ever nation they want. Rather its with a flag or face painting.[/quote'] boo boo, i get your point to. all the government did, is put a ban on flags...if someone wants to support a team, theres still a million other ways to do it. The govt didnt take away all their right to support whatever team they want. just the flag waving is banned.

Cricket is a sport that should unite all nations and used to see each nation in a lighter way, not the total opposite way.[/quote'] I agree with your overall ideology but you need to understand in cricket, nation vs nation format is the preferred format over franchise based competitions. So, there is a lot of pride involved. There is a massive difference between supporting other countries in neutral matches vs supporting another country in a match against your own country. There would be no motivation to watch and follow this sport if pride is not involved. Why else do you think fans from Pak and India take it so seriously playing each other? It's a matter of pride.
undisputed chap Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 I don't know whether banning rivals flags by bangladeshis is a good moveLet bygones be bygones or it happened in history so lets just forget about it is a nice concept. But when athe actions of a few puts others in an uncomfortable positions especially on such sensitive matters than people should have the decemcy to reconsider their actions. People take time to recover from these traumatic situations. Besides theres ton of ways to support rival teams instead of waving flags like wearing their team jersies etc.
beetle Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 It is totally understandable why BD govt would like to ban Pak Flag, considering their history.Just ban the Pak flag guys.....
Asim Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 That video posted by Icon shows the girl and the guy saying in Bengali that they support Pakistan even when they play against BD. This is a contest between two countries not two clubs. Many people have sacrificed their blood to establish these two countries. So when a citizen of a particular country starts supporting the other nation even when they are playing against their birth nation, that to me is a sign of massive disrespect and borderline traitor-esque behavior even if I discount the bloody history between two countries. Can you ever imagine supporting India in a match against Pak irrespective of all the friendship, goodwill gestures? So what u realistically think who they r, why they doing so? actually traitors? they hate BD and love Pak, what? Perhaps they don't take Pak as much of an enemy as you think they should... u see anything wrong in that? or say if someone from current generation of Pak dont take india as much of an enemy as his own family's 2,3 generation previous people used to take, wud u mind that?
