TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Although it wasn't much of a sample size but I thought Mohit Sharma bowled pretty well. Shami has been pretty expensive in the tournament so far and hasn't really been among the wickets. I think the medium pacers would get a bit more help here. They'll be hard to score off especially when the keeper is standing up to the stumps. Both the semi-finals and the final will be played on this very pitch.
JourneyMan Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Based on today's performance, there are good reasons to keep him in the next two matches.
NareshK Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Not sure how Mohit will bowl in the death overs. Shami is a better bowl at the death than him.
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 Not sure how Mohit will bowl in the death overs. Shami is a better bowl at the death than him. Maybe Mohit Sharma could compensate that with a good opening spell?
NareshK Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Maybe Mohit Sharma could compensate that with a good opening spell? There's no guarantee he will bowl a good first spell. Its up to coach, captain to take that call.
mancalledsting Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Shami has been fatigued since NZ ODI series- desperately needs a rest + people dropping catches off his bowling means he just lacks that extra bite that he's more than capable of . And because of Mohit's good performance today + his proven ability to get lift/nip off a length on these types of tracks means we should stick with him for semis
ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 was mohit bowling with good pace today? i saw 138kph and in the sa odi series, his effort ball was 130-135
game_changerr Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 shami shd play in semi against his bunny -amla
JourneyMan Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 shami shd play in semi against his bunny -amla LOL, still can't forget the freak dismissal where Amla got bowled while ducking.
gakgupta Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 mohit is better than shami in T20's.......i wouldn't rattle shami's confidence as his bowling is so invaluable to india now....esp in test macthes
Old guy Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Who will bowl at death? Only guy in team with decent death bowling is shami...about him being crap in t20 please see stats of other quick bowlers bhuvi just bowls at start so it's unfair to compare

Only guy in team with decent death bowling is shami...about him being crap in t20 please see stats of other quick bowlers bhuvi just bowls at start so it's unfair to compare but his action doesn't support yorkers.....and the poor guy is fighting the lone battle from past one year.......give him a break.....remember what happened to harbajan after afridi went after him in a test match in lahore?......it took almost 2 years for him to come out of it....... he is young and learning the skill.....it took steyn 2 to 3 years to adjust to t20 bowling.....

Lol bud he has bowled plenty of Yorkers and even in last match there were boundaries off inside edge and he bowled beauty of over at death against Pakistan in first game .. He is one guy who does not go for over 10 runs which is great at death...freaking steyn goes for 20 runs at end it's normal ...also against West Indies catch of gayle was dropped and another catch at death overs he has been unlucky If Mohit is here cos of getting out of form Watson than shami should stay cos he actually got edge of gayle and was dropped by ashwin Also tired or not tired it's semi final of world t20 how many bowlers get chance to represent their country on such big stage ? He will bee raring to go
ThePhenomenal1 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 mohit is better than shami in T20's.......i wouldn't rattle shami's confidence as his bowling is so invaluable to india now....esp in test macthes true, actually a good thing that we have bowlers we can rotate and this should be a sign that shami should play tests and odis. no need to play t20s when "specialists" or bowlers more suited for it can play. Mohit seems good for the job, regardless of his trundling in SA. His pace seems to be higher in t20s.
SLICKR392 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Yes, we should. Dude was bowling good T20 lines. If you at the look at the highlights, it wasn't easy to drive or loft him in the PP. He was sticking to good lines + there was a bit of swing and the pace was pretty decent too. Mostly at good length but watch the highlights to check out Warner's struggle to smack him through covers. Good T20 bowler to have in the power plays. Shouldn't play any other formats, IMO.
Austin 3:!6 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Shami against Amla is the key. He troubled him in SA. So Mohit needs to wait longer for his chances.

Midfielder Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 This is where I have problem with Dhobi. With game in hand he should have let Sharma finish his quota.

mancalledsting Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 that raina over was criminal.. almost got them back in the game. he never learns I agree- if not for that over-margin of defeat would be bigger. Also I think the IQ of Dhoni should be tested- WTF would you bowl a part timer when you are fielding 5 specialist bowlers??? Very Stupid captaincy indeed
