5) Conflicts with Dravid during the English tour - Only press reports, nothing has come out of the horse's mouth yet. 6) Handling Dravid politically during selections - Ditto
I can vouch for these two through my journo sources and had said so when Dravid resigned as being the biggest factor behind his resignation coupled with BCCI not appointing a coach which put too much burden on Dravid.

Its possible to defend each of his decisions by some hook or crook. But it takes a bit of careful analysis to see that this brain dead fool masquerading as our chief selector has zero long term vision.

!)Declaring that there was no talent in the country' date= after seeing the failure or Raina & Kaif, barely six months before the 20/20 world cup & using that as an excuse to restore the oldies - Thats just a mere statement , cant really hold him ransom for a some retarted statement that he makes once in a while.
Huh, its a mere statement ? This guy is supposed to be our chief selector, whose prime responsibility is to spot talent that can represent the nation. He doesnt have to go to every nook & corner of India to find this talent. Its already short listed for him in the form of domestic cricketers. If he cannot spot talent at that level, he has no business doing what he signed up to do
2) Booting Sehwag out based on a couple of series failures, while backing non-performing oldies - Couple of failures. Sehwag was out of form for a long long time when he was dropped. Save his useless century against Bermuda , he hadnt done nothing for a long time.
Long time ? In 2006 he averaged 38 with 2 100s, 2 50s vs Pak averaged 59 (Not a failure), Laxman (46), SRT (21) vs Eng averaged 19 (Failure), Laxman (0), SRT (20) vs WI: averaged 51 (Not a failure), Laxman (36) vs SA: averaged 15 (Failure), Laxman (36), SRT (33) Sehwag had outperformed Laxman in THREE OF HIS LAST FOUR series and fared atleast as good as Tendulkar in his last 4 series. He didnt perform great, but considering his overall accomplishments in the last couple of years, prior to his axing, coupled with the fact that he wasnt the worst performer in the team, he should have been retained. But our cheap selector didnt see it this way. More than performance, Vengcircus did not have a great personal opinion about Sehwag & was hell bent on getting rid of him from the get-go.
3) Bringing back Sehwag for the ODI series post world cup & dropping him for the test series -- Well it paid off , Both Jaffer and Karthik have been a tremendous success both in BD and England.
This is where the hypocrisy of Indian fans and selectors stand out. When it comes to dropping Sehwag or Yuvraj we reach orgasmic delight, citing that as an opportunity to explore new talent. Why dont these rules apply to the senior most statesman ?
4) Resting/Dropping Tendulkar & Ganguly to appease the media & public, post WCup - Sachin and Ganguly were rested because its Bangladesh and they were later taken back for other sterner tests against the Saffies , Eng and Aus. And again , they have vinidicated their selection too, top scoring in matches since then.
They were rested solely to appease the media and the public. It was BCCI's collective decision. If you followed the sequence of news items that came out post worldcup, Tendulkar & Ganguly were rumoured to be rested even before the selection meeting took place. The board did so, to come across as stern, unforgiving, one taking action against non performing players. If the selectors really believed oldies were useless, they should have dropped them. If they did not believe so, they should have simply played them. Instead Vengcircus pulled a mere eyewash, pretending to punish the oldies in the pretext of resting them and then promptly bringing them back, to save his face with his local board Perfect example of a job done to keep the media, the local board and the public happy

You need a proof from Indian Supreme court for this ? In the last 6 months, most of the rumours we have heard about the players and the board have turned out to be true.
7) Riding on the youth wave again after the 20/20 win. - What does that mean ? They picked a young team for 20/20 , it won. They reverted back to the seniors for the one-dayers. They picked the same young team for the one-off against Aus and now , they have have reverted to the seniors sans Dravid again. I dont see any flip-flopping.
This is a classic example of Vengcircus's hypocrisy. Exactly 6 months ago, this fool cried hoarse that we lacked talent and that we needed to bank on experience. After seeing our 20/20 win, he issues a warning to our seniors during the Ind-Aus series that no one can take their place for grantedand that a no. of youngsters are ready to replace them. If you cannot see this as an anamoly, there is nothing more I could say to convince u.

As i said , thats just some brain-fart he had , that prompted him to "we didnt have any talent" in out country... Lets move past beyond that s

Its incredible for you to justify someone who not only failed wrt numbers , but looked visually our of form as well. And dont forget ,Sehwag played plenty of ODIs in 2006 , where he looked totally out form. IMO, no selector could have picked him then. If anything this selection committee keeps going back to him. They selected him for the BD one-dayers , when other seniors were dropped. He didnt deliver there. They picked him for 20/20, when it there absolutely no excuse to justify his inclusion in any national team, in the hope that he delivers there and he could be ushered into the national team again. And now , he is selected for Pak one-dayers , when Dravid was dropped, even though he hasnt set the world on fire at all.
This is where the hypocrisy of Indian fans and selectors stand out. When it comes to dropping Sehwag or Yuvraj we reach orgasmic delight, citing that as an opportunity to explore new talent. Why dont these rules apply to the senior most statesman ?
Aaah you see , that is where the question of replacements come in. Whom do you think could replace Sachin at no.4 in our line-up ? And score atleast as much as he does ?

Agree.

Again Agree. That idiot has spoiled the farewell of one of India's bestest ever player , either voluntarily or involuntarily. He should be stoned for that.

You really dont like him at all ' date=' dont ya Finey ? :D[/quote'] I like the Indian team to win matches. As the title of the thread says (and I do espouse this view) - "Vengsarkar as Chief Selector has done Indian cricket more harm than good". For this reason, I hate this circus guy!:bandit:

It was mistake on selectors to drop Sehwag from tests in first instance , his odi form was not good but in tests he is always a threat and with his near 50 avg , he trumps all those karthicks and other dummies which BCCI paraded as openers. Sehwag is once in lifetime talent which was mishandled by selectors , he had one Test series failures against SA and he was discarded from both test and ODIS.He falied in odis and should have been left out of team for ODIS not tests. He was their best opener in test matches in long time coming and he had one bad series in which every othe top indian batsman was a failure too , jaffer had so so series. They replaced him with Karthik who on his best day is little better than Akash chopra who gets good 50s and sixties. But is never sehwag who had made runs against everybody in tests everywhere , remember his 96 before lunch in WI in second test which was his second last test series.
