thecricketer Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Forget WT20 .. Forget IPL.. the real cricket is coming up with the Tour of England. Can India win the test series this time around ? The form of Ashwin and Mishra gives us hope also England is not in best of form after the disastrous Ashes Tour. Can we win the test series with the following team ? 1. S. Dhawan 2. A. Rahane 3. C. Pujara 4. V. Kohli 5. R. Sharma 6. M S Dhoni 7. R. Ashwin 8. R. Jadeja 9. M. Shami 10. U. Yadav 11. A. Mishra 12. V. Aaron 13. K. Jadhav 14. M. Vijay 15. I. Pandey This team look solid. The question is can they do it this time ?

Austin 3:!6 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Don't be fooled by England's Ashes down under or T'20 WC campaign. They are still very good at home.

rkt.india Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Dont hope much from Ashwin and Mishra in England. They will roll out green tops.
deathmonger Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Dont hope much from Ashwin and Mishra in England. They will roll out green tops. Will be good for us. It's flat tracks where our pacers come undone.
BlueBee Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Dont hope much from Ashwin and Mishra in England. They will roll out green tops. We can play Mishra, bcoz wrist spinners can spin the bowl anywhere as we have seen in NZ tour how Sodhi spun the bowl in those tracks
undisputed chap Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 We'll be fecked 5-0 coming up. Ishant & zak bowling 125 kph thunderbolts. Suddenly cook & co will be scoring doubles. I expect only rahane may score some runs. Nohit will be getting bowled of straight delivers & squat to show they kept low.:((

NareshK Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Yes, this is a series I'm looking forward to. We need changes in our bowling though. We have to go with 5 bowlers - 4 seamers + 1 spinner and 6 batsmen including a wk/batsman. Shami, Umesh, Ishwar or Bhuvneswar, Ishant, Jadeja or Mishra should be our bowling attack.
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 No. Be happy with a good performance in the World T20 and have fun supporting whichever team in the IPL. We'll have a few months in England you'd like to forget. :giggle:
undisputed chap Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 We need to 6-7 bowlers. Whi do guys want in squad knowing there are 5 tests & are after a the odis . What do u think we could play a pace all rounder instead of spinner & have rohit/ vijay/ chepu bowl spin if required on green tracks.
SLICKR392 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Aforesaid by Dhoni prior to the South Africa tour that the SA and NZ tour would be a learning curve for the youngsters, which indeed was, and I really hope they have passed the Test and are ready for the next level. Enough of trying to be competitive overseas. Our youngsters have passed that stage and its time to win something. We should, and could have drew the series against South Africa and won the one against New Zealand, 2-nil. Don't see us getting hammered like 0-8; we did pretty well in SA, time to cultivate all the experience from the last two series and beat England. Hopefully the right combination is picked for us to win a game.

They will be selected again in the Test Squad, actually I forgot them. sorry mates please close this thread. lol.. :hysterical:
cowboysfan Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Dont hope much from Ashwin and Mishra in England. They will roll out green tops. nah, they are not stupid.the best way to beat india is flat wickets and neutralize our bowles completely and just out bat us.
rkt.india Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 nah' date='they are not stupid.the best way to beat india is flat wickets and neutralize our bowles completely and just out bat us.[/quote'] They will create pitches like they did in 2011. They wont be able to out bat us on flat tracks. This is not some an old and aged batting like this time around like 2011. They will also pile runs on flat pitches.
rkt.india Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 We can play Mishra' date=' bcoz wrist spinners can spin the bowl anywhere as we have seen in NZ tour how Sodhi spun the bowl in those tracks[/quote'] Where did spin the ball? He was thrashed around. Mishra did play 2 tests in last tour and was thrashed as well and Mishra is no Warne. He is taking wickets in T20 because batsmen trying to attack him. Test is a different format.

Can we take 20 wickets in a match? Is our captain brave enough to attack and play their best bowling unit and not based on just experience or for the sake of variety?
