Sonix768 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I also blame Dhoni and team Management (not selectors). After THAT innings against WI, He should not have been picked in the 11 irrespective of the reputation the player has. You can easily see he was all at sea. Even on his haydays, he was struggling a bit agaisnt spin. On a form like this its criminal to play him in the finals against a opponent who has good spinners in a slow track.
Straight Drive Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Yes, the selectors and captain needs to take the blame. As a player , Yuvi has all right to make himself available for selection, but it is the job of selectors to spot who is fit , in form etc. Such blunders have happened in past too. I remember we had to play Saha as batsman in some test series (was it versus SA) when Rohit got injured.
helperononline Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I understand your frustration but for this debacle selectors and MSD should be blamed not Yuvi. This smacked of sentimental pick that has come back to haunt Ind. Man showed great character and courage to come back from his illness. But professional sport and emotions should never be mixed. This man has given Ind great service in LOIs playing key role in winning two world titles. You can tell man is not the same physically and mentally. He is getting undeserved stick. JourneyMan Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 What annoys me is that Dhoni plays like a beast when he's wearing a yellow top sponsored by Lungi cements, but he looks completely lost when he's batting for India (in T20s)
