Dil Dil India Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Most ICC Trophies: Australia 6 (WC 1987, WC 1999, WC 2003, WC 2007, CT 2006, CT 2009) India 5 (WC 1983, WC 2011, CT 2002*, CT 2013, World T20 2007) West Indies 4 (WC 1985, WC 1979, CT 2004, World T20 2012) Sri Lanka 3 (WC 1996, CT 2002*, World T20 2014) Pakistan 2 (WC 1992, World T20 2009) South Africa 1 (CT 1998) New Zealand 1 (CT 2000) Interestingly, all 3 of Sri Lanka's ICC wins have come on the subcontinent and Pakistan have yet to prove they can win a major tournament on the subcontinent :--D The race heats up now; for the first time in ages India's total = rest of Asia Combined. Australia are runaway leaders not only because of the number but also because 4/6 have been the biggest one. With the CT set to continue, how will this pan out in the future? It is likely we will have 1 ICC tournament every year. *CT 2002 in Sri Lanka was shared by Sri Lanka and India.

deathmonger Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 That's why you should not get depressed too much. Every 4 years there will be 3 cups. So in the next 40 years there will be 30 cups. Abhi NZ/WI ko to ODI waala jeetna nahi hai, so in next 40 years we will win at least 6/7. But in reality I think int cricket is going to see loads of scaling down by 2030 with bigger IPL window.

If youre not take a look at some of the squads India fields. I actually want the Asia cup to be exclusively a coming out party for young up and coming Indians to see whos ready for the big squad. Let Pakistan field their 100% strength squad instead. It will be just like the WC match which we win after Imran doesnt shut up about that insignificant Afridi 6.

When they have nothing to say, they try and make lame attempts at being sarcastic. When it comes to major trophies, you guys are still better than Bangladesh, no worries. The only reason the Champions Trophy isn't important for them is because their team hasn't managed to win it - the only side along with England not to have won it. If they had won a couple of editions, we'd have seen arguments about how it negated India's extra WC etc. One idiot elsewhere was arguing Asia Cups were more important than Champions Trophy (as Pakistan had won the last edition); in typical fashion he disappeared when pointed out that India have won 5 Asia Cups and Pakistan 2. These deluded and biased fools tried to discredit the T20 trophy too after India won in 2007; then when Duckridi did well and Pak won in 2009 it became the best thing since sliced bread. I guess God has a way of dealing with hypocrites - he ensured Pak had the shortest reign of all the T20 Champions; the next champions were crowned within a year. No wonder they were crapping themselves yesterday.
