Instead you had a fixer as your captain at that time.. :hysterical: Are you sure you don't want to change your mind about not having Ranathunga as your captain instead of the fixer? it's ok you can change your mind, everyone makes mistakes..:giggle:

No' date=' who wants a test batsman averaging in the mid 30s, when we had Tendu, Azhar, Vengsarkar, Vishy, Ganguly etc playing in the middle order? Even Manjrekar and Kambli could not cement their spots in the side. But Aravinda could have challenged some of these players for a spot in the Indian side.[/quote'] Aravinda would have easily walked in to your team over all the players you mentioned. You would have loved to have Ranathunga the captain for sure..

He was still a better batsman than buffoon Ranatunga. And players need to get their place as a player first not as captain or something. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk

In ODIs - yes. In tests, likely to challenge only a few of them. Not certainly Tendu, Amarnath, Vengy, Vishy because all these were good under tough conditions. He could try to displace Azhar and Ganguly in away tests.

:banghead: ..doesn't even know how to construct an insult when quoting a post.
And you do? You and your buddies pull out numbers from thin air and get cornered when asked to prove it. That's YOUR comeback or 'constructing an insult' as you might call it- making up stuff!

I bet you would have loved to have Ranathunga in your side.
For his surprisingly agile fielding and good captaincy, maybe. But realistically, Ranatunga wasn't making it to any Indian side during his career. he was an ordinary batsman. The likes of Sidhu, Amre, Manjrekar and Kambli being better than Ranatunga, with Ganguly,Laxman & Azhar being significantly better and Dravid-Tendulkar being galaxies better. So how does Ranatunga get into the Indian side, except maybe injury replacement for breif periods of time ? If Ranatunga were Indian, he realistically might not have even gotten the chance to play and if he did, he'd have clocked under 30 tests and 150 ODIs in his career with us. Look, Indian batting was so powerful that not even Mahela was getting in to the Indian team for some periods he has played over if SL players were eligible, only Sanga makes it in (at his peak, I'd still have Laxman over Mahela, especially overseas). Only one SL batsman would've made it into the Indian team for sure in both formats, consistently for most of the 1990s: Aravinda deSilva. He might've kept Laxman out but after Laxman's 167 and 281*, he would've pushed DeSilva out too.

Ranatunga would've needed to get in to the Indian team before he could take over the captaincy from Azhar. Thats the problem: Ranatunga would've been the Mohammed Kaif type for India. Just not good enough to get a solid shot, let alone being captain.

That was my argument , we are crap so we don't get many tests, India being rich minnows gets tests. Thanks for helping me to prove my point.:hysterical:
Thanks for agreeing SL is crap. Now get lost.If you argue again tell me why SL has only 4 wins in last 4 years. You will be bullied over and over again with numbers if you talk crap about India.

Crazycric' date=' you need to expalin this before deviating and spouting nonsense all over the place.[/quote'] Nothing much to explain - they are utterly crap in batting and bowling at the test level. Only four players from their side could have walked into other major test sides since 2000 - Sangakkara, Mahela, Murali and Vaas. But due to Mahela's poor overseas record, he would have found it difficult to walk into one of the top sides except at this peak.

Srilanka won 8 tests and lost 26 tests between 2000-2014 against top 7 oppositions, outside home(excluding bangla and zim). Srilanka's win/loss ratio is 0.3 during this period, whereas India's was 0.50 (15 wins 30 losses ). India was almost close to twice as good as Sri Lanka during this period, outside home-IT IS A FACT.

SL won 4 matches and lost 4 matches at home in the same time period, W/L=1.00 India won 15 matches and lost 3 matches at home in the same period, W/L=5.00 India 5 times better than SRILANKA at home in the last 3 years. IT IS A FACT. SriLanka never won against India in India in Tests . IT IS A FACT. India has won 4 test matches in Sri Lanka. IT IS A FACT. ODIs also INDIA owns Srilanka; 78-54, W/L 1.44, SUCK IT UP. The fact that you got temporary success against some teams outside subcontinent and won few cups does not change the fact, SRI LANKA is INDIA's biatch.:two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:Now suck this up.
