Poor decision imo. It might help the BJP win Delhi' date=' but it sets a poor precedent. Bitter-sweet moment really. She's very green in politics.[/quote'] More like a wake up syrup for the dissidents in state BJP. Seemingly they have done nothing over the years and needed Modi magic to come to forefront again.

There will be repercussions after the elections, irrespective of whether BJP meet their goals or not.

this delhi campaign of the BJP has been bit of a let down to be honest. Inducting Imli that congress woman Tirath etc has left a bitter taste. What about the BJP rank and file? They people who work tirelessly for the part at ground level. Is Delhi really that big a state for BJP to be ruthless like this? I can understand if they do this in Bihar. Infact i expect it. As Jalebi bhai says. This Khattar syndrome whereby somebody is just parachuted in is a big let down.
Yes it is.u have to win the capital especially after being 15 years out of power,it'll send strong signals to the rest of India that the capital is made a fortress. But personally I am not at all happy by these inclusions of bunny, tirath, ilmi and I think it's purpossless but in the hindsight who knows it might have been a strategy from shah and co to show the bjp leaders in delhi their incompetence for the last 15 years

NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal had a free run on the popularity charts as chief ministerial candidate till BJP suddenly inducted former IPS officer-turned-activist Kiran Bedi and projected her as the party's CM face. Kejriwal was flying higher than his rivals but his leadership advantage could be neutralized with an opinion poll on Monday showing a neck and neck fight with Bedi. According to a poll conducted by ABP News-Nielsen, Kejriwal continues to be the most preferred CM candidate with 47% people plumping for him. However, Bedi is a close second with 44% people keen to see her as the next Delhi CM. Bedi had joined BJP three days back. Among women respondents, Kejriwal was more popular with about 50% people preferring him while Bedi had 41.4% support.

^ the big question is. Does this guy have any political capital? @adi i guess
News reports are saying that 3-4 Ministers are also resigning from TMC and joining BJP. They may or may not have political capital but it will be a big blow to Mamta and may just open the flood gates for all the dissatisfied workers/leaders in TMC. BTW as far as WB goes, Mamta herself is to blame for BJP's meteoric rise - by constantly attacking BJP, she has literally made BJP the main opposition party ahead of the left or Cong. Amit Shah is holding a rally in WB right now and is saying that he has come there to form the Govt so BJP is now definitely looking at a majority in Bengal in 2017 rather than becoming the main opposition party. So Dinesh Trivedi and some ministers joining BJP would be a big worry for TMC now.

New Delhi: With 33 seats Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is getting an upper edge in neck to neck contest for Delhi Assembly, according to News Nation’s in-house opinion poll. With a loss of one seat from what it got earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led BJP will get 31 seats. This will be the first time that BJP will see a downfall in its seat share in any Assembly Polls since the party came to power in Centre. Arvind Kejriwal is the clear choice for Chief Minister with 40 per cent vote share. He is way ahead of Harsh Vardhan (19%) and BJP’s newly inducted star campaigner Kiran Bedi (15%). Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikhit is still the choice for 10 per cent respondents. The opinion poll was conducted from 11th to 15th January with a sample size of 3195 randomly selected respondents across Delhi. Seat Share According to the opinion poll, AAP is all set to bag 33 seats in Delhi Assembly. This is 5 seats more than their last tally of 28 seats. Whereas, BJP’s tally is expected to go down to 31 seats from 32. The party was reduced to 28 seats in the Assembly after three MLAs Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma were elected to the Parliament. The Congress party is expected to further lose 3 seats and its tally is expected to marginalise to 5 seats from the current 8 seats in Delhi Assembly. Vote Share AAP is getting 39 percent vote share which is a huge jump of 9 percent as compared to what it got in last Assembly elections. In last Assembly elections, AAP got 30 percent of popular vote share but this time the party is expected to bag 39 percent vote share. The BJP is behind AAP by 4 percent as the party is getting 35 per cent vote share in upcoming Delhi Assembly Polls. This new vote share is 2 per cent more than the 33 per cent that it got in last Assembly elections. Congress is expected to suffer a huge loss of 10 per cent votes as compared to what it got in last assembly elections. Congress got 25 percent of popular votes in last elections but now they are expected to bag only 15 percent votes.

I was in Kolkata recently. There is strong anti TMC current there. BJP will win Kolkata. Problem is Kolkata is inconsequential in bigger battle. It is rural regions that determine the ruler.

Among women respondents, Kejriwal was more popular with about 50% people preferring him while Bedi had 41.4% support. However, according to the snap poll, a majority of respondents (44%) said the former cop should have joined AAP. Less than one third of respondents (23%) said it did not matter to them which party Bedi joined. Around 33% said she had done the right thing by joining BJP. A majority of respondents (61.6%) said that even if Bedi is announced as BJP's CM candidate, it will not impact their voting decision.
