The UP thing especially the truth is there is no one leader in UP for the BJP. the Uttarakhand thing too Khanduri is too old now. As is Kalyan Singh. Becoming a governor is not a small matter. Its a case of great pride. As i said before lets wait for Bihar. If BJP wins or if SuMO is projected as CM then IMO its just a lie that Modi just wants his men.

There are major cracks and sparring happening with the Shiv sena in Maharashtra and the SAD in Punjab. Even before the samnaa editorial after dlhi you always had reports for the BJP in maharashtra not keeping the shiv sena ministers in the loop. Reports are that one Sena minister wants to resign cause he has not been given any work. Even in punjab not a day goes by where there is not some issue between the BJP and SAD. Sidhu drugs etc. The BJP needs to step back a bit and re access. You cannot fight on all fronts. Keep your partners happy and end this relentless push. Both the SAD and the Sena have been with you for a long time. Yes they may have faults but in an India where everybody else is ganging up on you, you need some friends at your side. I do hope Paswan and that other small party in Bihar are offered fair deals in terms of seat sharing. They will find it hard to win otherwise. Amit Shah especially needs to take a step back. He has accomplished a lot and for me remains the most effective BJP president to date. But its not a weakness to admit you got it wrong and change strategy.

The AGP, which ruled Assam twice in the past, has drawn a zilch. The counting in other committees is in progress. In case of the 32 municipal committees, the BJP has already won 18, while the Congress has won eight. The AGP drew a blank. The civic polls have assumed significance in the State in view of the forthcoming Assembly polls next year.

They are to Assam what the Sena is to maharashtra. A lot of their ideology is similar to the BJP. No need for the right wing votes to be split.

Not too worried about the rest. Realistically UP Bihar and Karnataka are the ones. Assam is more like the icing on the cake. Its similar to a Jharkhand or Kerala. Middle sized state

These are funny times we are living in. This is a very volatile country and very impatient right now. Anything is possible. One think you have to factor is the growth India will experience in next one year.I know people in Bengal want a change to take place.

You also have to factor in the high Muslim population in Bengal - that will also cause problems for BJP in getting a majority on its own so soon.

Was offered something but did not choose it. Now he is left with jack. Expect the congress mlas to jump ship as well. BJP now has outright majority in the assembly at 43. They will keep Mahato AJSU around for insurance. Say what you may about Shah but this guy is the king of defections. BJP should continue to ask him to merge. IMO he will be crucial next time around. RS seat awaits IMO
