G_B_ Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Eye on Bihar, BJP to begin poll preparations early New Delhi: After its poll debacle in Delhi, BJP is taking no chances with regard to Bihar which is slated to go for Assembly elections in some months and is set to begin preparations there early. Party President Amit Shah will embark on a two-day visit to the state from April 14 as part of efforts to reinvigorate its rank and file, sources said here today. Shah will hold consultations with state party leaders there to devise strategies for the elections, seen as very crucial for BJP which used to be part of government in the state till over a year back. The BJP chief will address a 'Karyakarta Sammelan' (workers' gathering) in Patna on April 14, on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, the sources said. The day has been chosen keeping in mind the huge chunk of dalit voters in the state. Assembly polls in Bihar are slated in October-November this year and BJP for the first time ever is aiming to wrest power of its own. The party is not leaving anything to chance in Bihar, where the party is keen to restart its victory march that was halted in Delhi and is thus working on its strategy much in advance. The BJP has the support of dalit leader Ram Vilas Paswan on its side and also the backing of former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, a mahadalit, in his fight against Nitish Kumar. The party is keeping "all options open" with regard to allying or not with Manjhi, amid intense speculation of a possible alliance with him after it extended support to him as Chief Minister, the sources said. The BJP has also not made up its mind yet on whether to project a chief ministerial candidate or not in the assembly polls slated later next year. The BJP and its allies had won 31 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and ruling JD(U) was reduced to only two and Lalu Prasad's RJD to four, with both his wife Rabri and daughter Misa losing. Congress won only two seats. Manjhi + Paswan + That smaller OBC party i forgot its name. If BJP do have an alliance then what? Will Paswan be ok with it? He likes to project himself as protector of all of the SC community Do you give Paswan and Manjhi the same amount of seats? If so how many? Or is it a case of too many parties which will dilute the message? So many seats do the BJP need to contest to get 122 plus ? I reckon about 180. With Manjhi on board they will need to contest even less. I personally feel BJP are better off with a post poll alliance with Manjhi. There are too many parties in the BJP fold at the moment.

Akhil will be filing his nomination papers on Tuesday in the presence of BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai. According to sources, Ganga Charan had demanded ticket for his elder son Brijbhushan but party denied the request citing criminal cases reportedly pending against him. BJP has also decided to repeat Bajrang Bahadur Singh on Pharenda seat. Bajrang Bahadur was elected MLA from the same seat in 2012, but the Election Commission had disqualified him on the charges of violating the Representation of the People Act. Why are you consistently parading their candidates? I can understand if this was WB where the BJP are new. BJP have formed government in UP before. The established leaders are not going to be happy.

State BJP leaders have been unhappy for a long time now because of very high number of outsiders, especially outsiders with criminal cases, being brought in and being given tickets immediately. Around 20-25 Lok sabha candidates were also outsiders and now it seems the same strategy will be repeated for Vidhan Sabha. It is definitely very unhealthy. SP/BSP leaders know that they can abuse BJP and commit all crimes they like but as long as they can win from their constituency, BJP's doors will be open for them while state BJP leaders/workers who have worked for the party for decades are ignored and insulted.

Giving ticket again to Bajrang Bahadur Singh is one big example of how messed and mis calculated they are. Pharenda constituency is nearby my home, it is a BJP area they could have fielded anyone but instead they gave the ticket to this mafia. You go to any place in Eastern UP, all the BJP stars Adityanath in Gorakhpur, BrihBhusan Saran from Gonda they all are Bahuballis. People are not able to see the difference between BJP, SP and BSP as far as the state unit is concerned. During LokSabha it was only Modi Vs All which did wonders but for state unit it is only confusion and nothing else. Ultimately people will vote on the basis of caste and big Bahuballi of the area. As far as Charkhari is concerned it is mostly area of Lodhi and Kurmis which is the reason why they have given the ticket to Ganga Charan Rajput's son. Isn't this Ganga Charan the same guy who said that he will kill himself if Sonia will not become PM?
Sachin=GOD Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Local heads hardly have any influence now. Mostly it's Om Mathur (state in charge), Sunil Bansal (Org Secretary) who would tell Shah. The only state leader who would be involved might be State Prez (and on most occasions he just has to go with what's decided). No other state leader is usually consulted on such decisions and any questions asked by seniors are ignored.
