scorpio90 Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 After 100000 voters names missing in Pune, Mumbai has exceeded with approx. 500000 names missing acc to booth level figures. diga- From DNA The names of middle-and higher-income group residents are missing; however the names of slum dwellers are on the list http://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report-evms-fail-to-work-long-queues-and-dejected-voters-in-mumbai-1981521 HDFC'S Deepak Parekh name too is missing .. Missing names, low voting in change seeking South Mumbai http://www.firstpost.com/politics/missing-names-low-voting-in-change-seeking-south-mumbai-1495913.html BJP may only win in Mumbai due to NaMo wave. Otherwise there is a high chance of losing the city. Too many voters are disenfranchised by the EC. Some may call shoddy but it could be a deliberate stuff. I will bet Telangana will have the same stuff happening due to the amount of work put into creating that state, they will want the rewards too one way or the other. HYD folks have to watch next. It is not a small number that about 5 lac voters not finding their names. Sucheta Dalal @suchetadalal 16m @VinitaDeshmukh Your investigation along with MrPhadke will tell if it is deliberate sabotage or faulty IT infrastructure @sardesairajdeep Vinita Deshmukh @VinitaDeshmukh 14m @suchetadalal @sardesairajdeep true.we are filing FIR 2morrow morning as documents show they were fraudulently created 2 facilitate deletion Good! Let EC officials answer how voter who have voted in the past and have not changed address in between then and now had their names deleted. We have to make EC answerable to the voters of India. gslv Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 classic veiled con party tactic. why am i not surprised?
gattaca Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Poor stuff by congress now they are using EC to do this stuff. which government agency they haven't fudged with. Military, CBI, EC and the list goes on.
Yoda-esque Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Most of the people I know in Pune have their names missing and I know quite a few people there.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Repoll should be done in many constituencies but looks like it won't happen.
dial_100 Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 no wonder congress is so confident. who knows anything can happen. get ready for another term guys... pappuuuuuuuuuu :yay: pappuu :yay:
scorpio90 Posted April 25, 2014 Author Posted April 25, 2014 Alok Bhatt @alok_bhatt 12m Fact that PrithviRaj Chauhan has slammed public for not checking their names in voter list, points to the Cong game! But wat was BJP doing? Jaishil Patel @jaishil24290 13m @alok_bhatt @anilkohli54 Candidates have been barred from distributing slips also. EC has played a mild Congi game this election in MH. The way EC officials are appointed needs a serious relook. Looks like Cong stooges have been put in positions. Once BJP comes into power, they should order a judicial probe into this episode of mass deletion of voters and the modus operandi adopted by Election Commission. Right now no matter what the results, BJP should seriously take up this matter and go to SC to press for repolls after correction in these constituencies rather than waiting until May16 when it will be too late.
hhunaeh Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 EC explicitly asked the voters to check if their names existed and appeared correctly in the voter's list, even if they had voted in the last elections. This was supposed to be done online by some date in april. I verified my name in the voter list. These voters should have done the same.

A voters list is published during electoral notification and its revised based on new applications/modifications before a cutoff date. That list is not known until the polling date. So there is a possibility of golmaal during that time & I think all parties indulge in it.. But I am hearing more about it in Maharashtra

These are released much earlier than the polling date. http://ceokarnataka.kar.nic.in/ElectionFinalroll2014/Dist_List.aspx People were supposed to verify if the names were present and spelled correctly by some cutoff date in march or april. This was to done online or by sms.

EC or the voters? Human error can be accounted for, but in this massive scale and the onus goes to the poor voters?
G_B_ Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Its a good thing the shiv sena dont rely on high caste votes in mumbai. I am hearing that the sena have made big inroads into marathi votes of all backgrounds at the expense of the mns. MNS vote share is going to half this election. On top of which 3 mumbai seats they have not fielded any candidate in mumbai. I am being told from friends thats the mns vote has particularly collapsed in thane and mumbai south central.

I dont think one can do anything if its not there in this' date=' but the names were in the earlier list when the election notification was issued[/quote'] Even the draft rolls released earlier have polling booth information. The final list is the final increment on the same base list with a modification page at the end of the pdf document. Modifications are done till a final date before the elections. It is the duty of the voters to get their correct names on the list before every election. Are you sure all the ones who are complaining now checked their names on the draft list? Many people assume that if they have a voter id and voted in previous elections they can vote again. They aren't aware that you have do a voter list check before some date before every election.

I think you can also visit some EC center and check your name on the list. EC says it the voter's responsibility to ensure their name's on the list. But yes thousands of missing names in a single constituency raises doubts.

Fine.. As I said there is also a possibility of golmaal during the draft electoral rolls to final list.. Moreover only certain surnames deleted from the voter list points to foulplay

Moreover only certain surnames deleted from the voter list points to foulplay even the final list was released weeks before the election, not on the polling day. If what you said had happened, and people were aware of the rules, they could have raised a stink long ago.
