In order to globalize cricket, ICC needs to agree to participate at the olympics. The earliest cricket can be revived in to the olympics is 2020-2024. Twenty20 would be the only possible format to be used.

They all want a slice of the action and the Olympics won't bend down to their demands. The boards that select basketball and football teams to the Olympics are non profit from what I understand. Cricketing boards are not.

However, during the last Asian Games in China 2010, India/BCCI was the only Asian Country that didnt send a team to the tournament and I clearly remember that India was not busy with any assignments at that time. so irrespective of whether Team India is busy or not , BCCI wont send a team at all , not even a B or a C team. Cricket ranks higher only because of the 1.5 billion population of the subcontinent. It won't get enough backing to be an Olympic sport.

And then bcci will declare victory in the media against the evil firangis.
