gazi tv needs to invest in production as well so that 20.2 million will become 50 million by the end of their contract now they have to recover the costs by selling the rights and ad revenues which a tough ask if they don't recover a huge chunk from India series

Its pretty much an India A team' date='against BD, so I am not surprised.[/quote'] And there's a world cup going on. Bangladesh media reporting its quite in BD also, but I'm sure the stadium will be packed at gametime. We could be playing Burkina Faso's C team and people will pack the stadium to watch during the FIFA world cup final between Brajil and Arzentina.

Indian national channel Doordarshan has also declined the offer. un 13, 2014 Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) media rights holder Gazi TV has offered $1 million for the rights of the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series between India and Bangladesh, which starts this Sunday. The two teams will be playing three ODIs, on June 15, 17 and 19. The offer was especially made to Star Sports, who have not yet shown any interest. Mumbai Mirror reports that the Indian TV channel wants the priced to be reduced. Salahuddin Chowdhury, a Gazi TV‘s official said, “We’ve not received any confirmation from Star. We don’t want to deprive the Indian fans of live action of the series.†As yet another blow to the hopes of the telecast of the upcoming series, Indian national channel Doordarshan has also declined the offer. It is believed that DD relies on sharing the feed with a satellite channel rather than taking the rights exclusively.

The India-Bangladesh One Day Series will be telecast on Doordarshan ENI Bureau New Delhi: The India-Bangladesh One Day Series will be telecast on Doordarshan. However, Doordarshan will not be the official broadcaster of the series. Doordarshan has stepped in after Indian broadcasters have shown little interest in buying the rights for the live telecast. The broadcasting rights for the ODI series are with the Bangladesh-based Gazi TV. According to a ESPN Cricinfo report, Gazi TV had approached Star Sports and Sony Six. However, Sony 6, which is telecasting World Cup matches live, refused to telecast the ODI series. According to reports, Star Sports had asked for telecast rights for Rs 5 crore, which was considered "paltry" by the Bangladesh broadcaster. Salahuddin Chowdhury, CFO and head of operations of Gazi Group, was quoted as telling a local newspaper: "The Star offer is too less in comparison to the cost of the rights." Chowdhury added that because of the BCCI's "problems with Neo and Ten, we can't sell the rights to them." The series starts from June 15. India will be going into the series without star players like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. - See more at: http://www.eni.network24.co/sports/india-bangla-odi-series-on-dd-10723_2#sthash.Esofh5bU.dpuf
