Good to see some football related discussion instead of bets. :wall: Brazil played well unlike what "experts" think but they just have too many players out of form - Fred, Paulinho, Danny Alves etc. Hulk had a disastrous game against Chile - penalty not given, made the play for Chile to score a goal, scored but denied goal due to hand-ball and then missed a penalty. :rofl: Thiago Silva - the much rated captain - has made two mistakes in two games which has led to make Brazil work hard. Against Cameroon; just kept on standing watching the ball past him rather than defending it when there was zero risk. Similar move against Chile, where should have dived on the ball. Netherlands - Robben is a chewtiya and spends more time diving than kicking the ball. How can FIFA not take any action against him is totally dumbfounding. The problem with not awarding penalties for dives is that the diver has the extra-incentive to go for it again because he has nothing to lose. OTOH, the defenders are wary that the diver will put in a performance at the back of their mind. Hence, they are not at their 'A' game. All the referee has to do, is give Robben a YC for a dive and then watch how the game unfolds. Germany :WTF: Played such a high line to catch Algeria offside but the Algerian forwards kept running Neuer out of his area. I don't think I have seen another game where a GK has to come down 20 times outside the box. Algerians though looked very cool and I am suspicious they smoked pot before the game. Fun stat - this was the first time Algeria defeated Germany in a WC. Hulk was really unfortunate in that game BUT he was looking really good so thats a positive for Brazil. Their main problem is a weak defense - they have got to improve that if they have to be serious contenders from here on. I think they will win against Colombia but after it wont be easy at all. He's not. He dives deliberately and knows exactly how much to push the limits of the referees without getting a card. His biggest problem is that he just doesn't like to pass the ball to others when there's a chance to score - he likes to score himself. Always. Germany-France will be a good match with Germany going through IMO.

Are you kidding me? For the first time in Brazil football history, that their defense is the strongest suit of their cavalry. Their defense is definitely not strong - opponents have had far too many good chances. Just look at the CHILE match or the one against Mexico. Their defense has potential but hasn't lived up to it till now IMO. Again, the very fact that he dives deliberately but (usually) does not get caught is why he is so good at it - its a pathetic act no doubt but he creates a lot of chances for his team. As for FIFA - they don't have the guts to take any serious action. Just look at the "punishment" Suarez got for biting someone for the third time in his career!!!

Before the QF, Julio Ceasar had to make ONLY 7 saves - that is the least amongst ALL the GK's in the World Cup. The defense is strong (in potential) was my point. Robben is a chewtiya and will be one - how can anyone not to do something about is beyond my imagination.
