donks1 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I haven't been around very long in this forum but I can certainly say it's one of the finest around. :icflove: And one thing that has become apparent during this time is how many Sri Lankan fans are members of this forum. There seem to be an extremely high number of Indians who seem to love the Lankan team as well..some of them suprisingly seem to love SL over India. :hatsoff: The idea behind this thread was for these fans to discuss SL FC cricket, going-ons in the SLC and general gossip about the Lankan cricketers etc, and most of all to appreciate the exciting brand of cricket Lankans play. :two_thumbs_up: Mods, can you sticky this thread please?
donks1 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 I'll start it off by posting possibly the most important speech ever made by a cricketer. The legend :hatsoff: PII5DwqWA_4&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=2 kokaiV3ftWw&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=3 Moc8itTC-Ns&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=4 WDcp4kUb6D0&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=5k5ZTPqIHpP4&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=6 A0pdCvbgCfU&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=7 W_1hiXm1WHk&list=PL77863F281FCA775E&index=8

donks1 Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 SLC confirms Super Fours tournament Sri Lanka's premier Twenty20 tournament will be played over six days, between June 27 and July 2 at the Sinhalese Sports Club, the SLC has announced. The Super Fours tournament will follow a similar format to last year's event, with four sides representing provinces contesting passage to the Champions League T20 in September. The Super Fours takes the place of the Sri Lanka Premier League, which was cancelled for the third time in four years. The tournament will take place during the window between Sri Lanka's tour to England, and the home series against South Africa, and as such, national players are expected to be available for the event. "The T20 World Champion team players will participate, while giving an opportunity for the up and coming cricketers to play and interact with them," tournament director Ajit Jayasekara said. Meanwhile, the SLC also announced that Sri Lanka's premier U-23 three-day tournament will feature four Australians, spread across major Colombo clubs. Slow-bowling allrounder Ashton Agar, who last year debuted for Australia in the Ashes and is himself half-Sri Lankan, will play for Tamil Union. James Muirhead, William Bosisto and Matthew Short are set to represent Moors Sports Club, Nondescripts Cricket Club and Colombo Cricket Club respectively. The tournament is set to begin on June 6. http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-premier-league-2014/content/story/746783.html

Looked really mature for his age.
Roshanrocks Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 This is a very good idea to have a positive Sri Lankan thread here! :hatsoff: Very good speech from Sanga :nice:
kirisatha96 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Also, ICf seems to show a dark side towards Sri Lankans. I have been browsing the forums for the past month and observing the posts. Some of the posters here show an absolutely disgusting attitude towards Sri Lankans.
kirisatha96 Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Anyway.....should Chandi open for SL in coming Test series? Dimuth has been inconsistent as of late. Chandi has the experience at the top as he's done it before. This will also allow SLC to have both Thiri and Chandi in the team at the same time.
GoldenSun Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Also' date=' ICf seems to show a dark side towards Sri Lankans. I have been browsing the forums for the past month and observing the posts. I went to Sri Lanka with my BF last december, and everyone seemed to be rosom buddies there. There was no hostility for us Aussies visiting and the reception was top notch .
Sachinism Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Opening this thread should automatically play the SL national anthem
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 atb in the test series. soften the poms for us.
vamos_rafa Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 atb in the test series. soften the poms for us. On the contrary, they would get good match practice. This is what happened in the 2011 tour as well.
sandeep Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 boo-hoo. best to stop whining when you have enough SL fans who troll and post nonsense, and people react to it. Used to like SL, but Sangu is a polarizing character.
