G_B_ Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Uttappa- too man chances. Averaging less than 30. Not sure on T20s. Suspect technique to opening. Rahane- not good enough in the ODIs. Totally disappointed. Will play one good innings and fail for the next 5. Like Uttappa not sure on T20s. May still make it there. Issue with pacing innings. Pujara-- gets bogged down too easily Will suck the momentum. Rayadu-- Just not an ODI player. A strike rate less than 70 batting at 5-6 mostly. Move on from these guys India. Try Jadhav and Tiwary (who has atleast shown something) The most impressive Indian bat this tournament has been Raina. Thats saying something. India have young batsman. Kohli Rohit Raina etc have some time to go. So India can afford to move on from the above mentioned 4 batsman

renjith Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 problem is same as with our bowling. we are always revolving around the same small set of players. We have the biggest domestic circuit among cricket playing nations. Still we don't give chance to enough performing players from domestic tournaments.

Its not fair to bring out the IPL. I doubt Tiwary or even Pujara have been picked on the basis of IPL performances.
