Persisting with Siraj for four f test matches. And this trundler Deep is trash on true wickets. The only match this guy impressed me was his debut match. He is even worse than what we’ve seen historically way back in the past. At least those guys retained their pace for a few matches. If you want to win series (or even survive) you have to make bold selections. They are persisting with Rohit Sharma too. Kohli too. How many batsmen are performing? Atleast the selectors are consistently being blind and partial. Thats something to cheer about. MK55 1

Need to identify bowlers who are under 25 years of age, so that by the time they gain experience...they be 27-28 years old and can server us for next 7-8 years. Being 28-29 is not too bad if someone can serve the team well for even 3-4 years, because it gives the chance for currently 17-19 yr old pacers to mature and become ready for int'l cricket in that period. the real question is whether prasidh has the mental fortitude to be that guy.
singhvivek141 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Bumrah is down on pace so far..quickest around 139k Akashdeep is bowling inaccurately with no zip whatsoever..quickest 136k

Think he is getting to a point where is hedging his bets where he is thinking of longevity knowing that there is no potent bowler left in the side and he might have to bowl a lot of over and an injury now can derail his career for good. He might have to let go of one format, yes he does not play low-key series but now he was called for Bd series and has to play tests in Ind. too with no other dependable fast bowler and ashwin retiring. Plus a depleting/thin batting strength its hard to expect he will go full-tilt now on. Edited December 27, 2024 by tapandrun

And eventually he & his family can move and settle in UK, US, Aus, etc. It will serve ind cricket right for the way they mistreated and marginalized him Edited December 27, 2024 by Vijy

Team is in bad shape right now there is just 1 reliable bowler, only 1 top order batter who can score some runs, rest all are just there to make the numbers

KL? it's certainly not jaiswal, since he is mostly a HTB at this stage

We can't blame him ,it can't be a one man show. Batters need to score runs and the other bowlers also need to take wickets. Shame to see that SIraj is struggling to put the ball in the right spot in his 2nd trip to Australia. Akashdeep why his speed is down after the 1st test match itself. ANd then the captain, absolutely hopeless in every aspect (planning, team selection and his batting). On this pitch why did we go with 2 spinners. When all the experts wanted 4 seamers , we went with 3 seamers(2 out of form), 2 spinners and a young batsmen who could bowl a bit. Why did we bring Prasidh if team management is not willing to play him.Whats wrong in investing in Harshit. Kohli, Rohit and also Gill should be dropped from the next test match. Rishab pant needs to standup and score runs, few ancy fancy shots is not what we look from a no.5 It's sad to see that so far it has been a one man show. Gautam Gambhir also needs to realize that coaching IPL team is lot easier than Team India. Ravi SHastri was also very outspoken, but he was someone who did a lot of background work with the team. He had a clear cut plan and communicated the same to the board. Why GG didn't attend the Duleep trophy, yes he fast tracked Harshit and Nitish. He could also have noticed few things. Why did he force Rohit and Kohli to play SL ODI series, they could have play Duleep trophy instead. Very disappointing to see the way team has played in this series. Adamant Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Why are our bowlers bowling on the pads so much, that is innocuous bowling. Australia won't offer much of that.
Adamant Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Akashdeep has been a disappointment in this innings, drifting down the leg side too much and not using short balls effectively. Vijy 1

I don't blame Bumrah, but I don't think it is a good choice. Better instead to retire from some aspects and focus on others. For instance, we don't need him a lot in T20s and ODIs, though he is our best bowler. He could focus on Tests and IPL to maintain earnings while balancing workload.

Rightarmfast Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Sometimes Sanjay Manjrekar does make good point. Very good point about Rohit and Rahul's opening records. Yesterday, he also spoke about bowling speeds.
