Considering he is fit, he is easily better than them in terms of pace & intimidation, swing & control am not so sure since he has not played any competitive cricket of note.. Mosher 1 Link to comment

Every pacer's game has to be built around the top of off stump ball / channel ball, no matter how quick he is. Should look to reverse now with a oldish ball... Almost all deliveries by Kuldeep were clocking 137 k to 146 k in the 1st innings on these slow speed guns. Would have definitely clocked 140 k to 150 k on international speed guns. Suhaan Posted October 3, 2022 Share Posted October 3, 2022 Apart from being tall,bouncy and good pace we need bowlers who straight way hit good channel with pace The tests that we lost despite dominating for most part was mostly due to indifferent approach by our bowlers in 2nd innings That can be done by fast bowling doctors,good educated fast bowling coaches who have inputs to share not kind of dehati coaches Someone like Steyn,Tait,Lee,Johnson can do very well,once this generation learns the art of fast bowling they can impart this to upcoming ones Last,pitches should be quick enough to help pacers,not overly swinging conditions to help trundelrs like Sakariya,Unafkat, Nagaswalla,Mukesh and others Mosher, singhvivek141, express bowling and 1 other 4 Link to comment

He has fallen behind, not his fault but his short stature was always a disadvantage, and now he's in direct competition with the bowlers who are tall and as fast as him. Unless he really adds something in his repotire, it will be difficult for him to leapfrog the others. Link to comment

Yes short is fine, however if he stays fit & adds some skills, he can be a useful short format bowler atleast if not longer formats. He has been posting videos on Instagram with his physique & drills, he has put on some weight / muscle in his legs / thighs, hopefully he comes good & atleast becomes a contender. raki05 and Mosher 2 Link to comment

Which is why I am angry that Umran is not being instructed to practice bowling the channel in actual matches He is raw and must be guided. He did this in the 1st innings.
