Anything before that is a different regime and I don’t even consider that. Umesh Ishant Aaron Shami Bumrah have maintained their pace for a long time. I’m sure Mayank Umran will do exactly the same. But yeah every now n then we have those bowlers who drop pace rapidly (some even in this series).

Literally the first thing Bumrah said was that he missed bowling on the spiciest track in this series. But experienced Siraj did not manage to do even this. Nor could super experienced Starc. Nothing is a given. I watched only the highlights of our 2nd innings bowling. But with only 2 specialist pacers bowling for us and the Aussies trying to hit every ball to reach a moderate target, it wasn't that easy. Neither could our pacers bowl flat out as they may have had to bowl too many overs later on, nor was maintaining a good line that easy with Aussies playing T20 style. 29 minutes ago, MK55 said: But yeah, he should be persisted for now. Needs a lot improvement on his full balls and average pace. Morne needs to do something. Average pace is likely to be ok if 3 pacers are bowling. In the first innings, Prasidh was hovering around 136 k to 142 k consistently. In SA he averaged 139 k+. Vijy and Mosher 2

Can't have an attack of Bumrah, Shami and Siraj anymore. Agree. We need some tall, hit the deck, quicks. Preferably 140 k+. Need to play Harshit, Mayank and Prasidh by rotation. Sen too when fit. ( Prasidh not in T20Is ). A bunch of medium height pacers in their 30s and not at their fastest, won't cut it. Even Akashdeep is similar. Vijy and Mosher 2

But I expect more in terms of intensity. I know Prasidh has the ability to crank it up to 90 mph. So I want him to do that. No excuses. Also this is his first test match. That’s what separates the great bowlers. When they get the chance they bowl 150 percent. But I’ll persist with him and Rana. express bowling 1
express bowling Posted January 5, 2025 Author Posted January 5, 2025 Boland saved Australia in test 5. Bowled like a slower version of Bumrah. Starc was below par. Cummins was blowing hot and cold. More cold than hot. Mosher and Vijy 2

I think prasidh will merit a few more chances. didn't do a perfect job of course, but showed big improvement compared to SA tour Suhaan 1

He will get wickets with his bounce. Harshit is lead pacer material and shoild be developed as such. Suhaan, Vijy, bouncers and 2 others 5

MK55 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Also another good thing about Umran is that he said recently in one of his interviews that he wants to perform and bowl high pace spells in test matches and win matches for the team. I like that attitude. And attitude is the first thing u need. Suhaan 1

Fast bowlers are very delicate, they should be handled like beautiful lover They should be given a safe secure encouraging mental space and care and offcourse physical care as well(Don't get me wrong ,don't bowl them to dust, give proper breaks, provide what they want in field placements etc) A captain must become his gay brother Disclaimer -people don't get offended, meri Bhavna samjho Edited January 5, 2025 by Suhaan Vijy, express bowling, MK55 and 1 other 3 1

Fast bowling is an art and nothing less. It’s highly technical and needs to be respected. U need natural talent or a unique bowling IQ about actions fitness and stuff to get there. People who have bowled would understand. Suhaan 1
express bowling Posted January 5, 2025 Author Posted January 5, 2025 Gambhir was praising Siraj non stop in his presser. Much more than Bumrah. Praising his attitude of running in every ball. But Siraj averaged 31+ in this series as a veteran pacer on very spicy pitches. And was bowling 130 k to 140 k mostly. If Gambhir finds moderately effective brisk medium pace bowling to be very very impressive then it is a cause for worry. Looks like he is looking at inputs rather than outputs.
