CSK Fan Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Life in North Korea from someone who escaped http://www.cracked.com/article_21373_5-things-you-learn-growing-up-in-and-escaping-north-korea.html "One time I saw this little girl, maybe 4 or 5, she trundled up with a pretty big bouquet -- almost as big as her, but she carried it to the shrine one-handed. Her parents rushed in, screaming at her. Dad slapped her full on the face. The crime? Not using two hands to lay down those flowers. So they bought her a bigger bouquet, this one was even bigger than the little girl, and she laid that down with both hands." He left a pause in the middle, and I think the first half was to share his opinion with me and the second is what he had to say ... I saw his assistant look at him during the pause, and I kind of worry about him today. I never saw that guy at another event." I was surprised, 'Is that book allowed?' 'No!' He'd smuggled it in. And he asked if me if people had built underwater settlements yet. I told him there were underwater hotels in the world now, and man, the smile on his face was great. It was like seeing my little brother on Christmas." The reality is that while it's impossible to say how much rice Kim ate during the famine, we do know he spent $600,000 a year on his personal brandy stash. Sachin=GOD Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 Sometimes I feel western media exaggerates the idiocy of North Korea,I mean can really an entire country be this stupid? Or the 2nd option is the guys belonging to North Korea are smart enough to seperate the b.s and just decide to go with the flow but in reality ignore crap like this much like most Indians taking opinions of raj deep, barkha etc seriously This is exactly what it is. Western media exaggerates everything about North Korea. Its just propaganda. A little while back they ran a report that some "undisclosed Korean official" got angry and issued a warning to America because of a Hollywood movie with Seth Rogen and James Franco in which they go to North Korea to assassinate Kim Jong un, leader of North Korea. Seriously ? Why would they care so much about some stupid Hollywood comedy ? Seems really far fetched. Actually North Korea feeds a continuous supply of fake news about itself and the western media, not having any idea about how to separate the real North Korea from the propaganda, just shows it. The situation there is extremely bad - far, far worse than what the western media shows. I recently read "Dear Leader: Poet, Spy, Escapee--A Look Inside North Korea" - the author is one of the highest ranking North Koreans to escape so he knows a lot about the internal working of the country. Absolute must read book if you want to know about North Korea. Another good book is "Under the loving care of the fatherly leader".

The titles could've been the same for a book written by Sanjay Jha as well.
