Sachithra Senanayake banned from bowling by ICC - found to exceed 43 degrees

Please note that lab testing or match testing doesn't matter. We don't have the technology (yet) for real-time match testing. Once we have it, I am all for it. You have to bowl EXACTLY like you have bowled in the match during the lab tests. If you don't, you will be found out like Senanayeke. My point was simple - Senanayeke failed the exact same tests Ajmal or Murali cleared. You either believe in those tests (call Senanayake a chucker) or you don't (call Senanayeke a good bowler). You can't have it both ways.

Were the lab testing conditions exactly same?AFAIK Murali and Ajmal were tested and cleared by University of Western Australia,which even Senanayake has cleared previously. This time he was tested at Cardiff,UK

Something I have been complaining for 10 years now. Every MoFo with a bent arm is doing the same. In fact what this testing in some remote desert of Australia has done is encourage these guys to become more bold and thrown blatantly because they have been checked and let go of.

Nonsense. The most successful spinners were not chuckers. You don't have to chuck to deceive batsmen. Chucking is illegal either he is a fast bowler or a spinner.

If they want chuckers to play then allow every spinner to do that.

Testing conditions don't vary from lab to lab. Each lab is certified.

But in Eng..they found out that Sena while testing was trying to use straight arm..so that he can pass the test...but in matches...goes back to chucking. Clearly the pictures are a million words there. in Aus....they allow the cheating by the players in lab testing. IMO...Sena was 100% sure...that he can turn up at the lab...have all those things put on his arm....making sure that he is bowling with a straight arm...& pass the test.....going back to chucking in Intl cricket for the next 3-4 years..before being called again...rinse and repeat.

Senanayake was trying to cheat but Murali/Ajmal were able to produce the same deliveries they bowled in the matches. The testers are smart - they induce random balls you have bowled which are fine, you have no idea about them beforehand. A 2D image isn't more than a 100 words and if it is it is wrong. Science has conclusively proven that you can't differentiate between 15 degree variations with the naked eye.

How about 40 degree variations. See those 2D images....both match ones...& testing ones..& judge yourself. Havent seen any for Murali/Ajmal ones..so cant comment on it.

Let me tell you how the test works. A screen is put up in front you and you have to replicate the EXACT same ball. If you don't (like Senanayake) you will be caught napping and it would be clear you are cheating. The lab has equipment attached to your arm and chest to measure the angle. The balls on the screen are randomly chosen including those which are problematic. You don't know about these balls before hand. It's a rigorous scientific procedure. And NO you can't guess the angle of the arm with a 2D-image. You can't even measure that on a video too.
