How the hell is that a match saving innings when England didn't even get to bat in the second innings, let alone come close to a win?

But when some of them prolonged their career to mentor these young batsmen for a couple of years' date=' the same guys were still complaining. No wonder these batsmen like Pujara and Kohli sing praises of them and how they guided them smoothly into international cricket. [b']Job well done, unlike a certain Lara who wanted to retire on a 'high' and left his team''s batting flounder completely. Imagine someone like Bravo, Gayle, etc having someone like Lara to groom them for a couple of years, West Indies would never have lost their way in batting, IMO. From what I see, these new guys are complete maverick, with talent but no guidance or direction at all and seem confused, just like Indian bowlers I believe a true legend is not only one who performs at the peak when he is in the team, but also what kind of legacy he leaves behind, how many people follow the path he has have taken, how well the ones after him continue the legacy. If our future generation had not taken up the mantle, it would have been a huge failure for the big guys. As of now, job well done at least in one department. Lara retired because WI selectors didn't want to select him after the 2007 WC. He was ready to play in the England tour (I guess?) after the WC.

In fact, in the last 3-4 times England have had opposition 4 down for less than 25, they have gone on to lose or draw the game. Wicket keeper batsmen, even Akmal, have made match winning 100s to win the game, not scored useless 50s. Just saying

Since you called those centuries in losing causes useless before, I expect you to have the same standards and call these 50s (which are half of 100s) useless too instead of hyping them and calling them top scores.
