The fact is that Hamas is not fighting like a professional army, it hides behind civilians. Why doesn't the Hamas fight in the open, and target the Israeli military instead of firing hundreds of rockets at civilians ? According to your "logic" Hamas is allowed to target Israeli citizens (which it does) and Israel is not allowed to target Palestinian civilians (which it doesn't anyway). Israel has the capability to exterminate almost the entire population of Gaza if it wanted to.

Hamas is like a cowering dog that just won't stop barking, and Israel will keep applying disproportionate force in response. The hatred between these groups is just too intense. The whole situation is pretty sad. As regards to the international community, nobody knows what the appropriate action is, apart from asking Israel to maintain some bit of restraint, which they won't as long as Hamas keeps shooting missiles at it. The muslim/arab countries should ask Hamas to call ceasefire imo. Its the only way some headway can be made.

Two days ago Swaraj said in parliament, that GoI is not going to take sides and criticize Israel, then if you see the language of the letter read by Indian official at Geneva, its a mind-boggling u-turn. Under Congress we have always abstained from voting, which was the right thing to do.

It must stop purchasing arms from Israel, as these revenues appear to be used to oppress and subordinate the Palestine people.
