Gambhir must replace Dhoni as next Indian test captain

If Dhoni retires from test cricket after this series, I would love to handover the captaincy to Gautam Gambhir. I know he is not a regular member in the team but I still believe he will come back strong as a batsman. Test cricket requires a mature leader and both Kohli/Pujara is premature for this role. Gauti's captaincy skills been admired by everyone during his stint with KKR in IPL. I would not mind to see Gambhir as next Indian test captain.

You must be kidding. Gambhir is way past it. He just about survives in the limited overs format, you think he has 5 days of continuous cricket in him? Besides, most of the young guys probably hate his guts.

But where would he bat? His struggles outside off are too well known. I like Gambhir, he is a fiesty guy who won't back down from a challenge and seems to have reasonable captaincy skills but test cricket especially outside the sub-continent is going to be a major struggle for him. His poor batting can drag down the entire team.
