Sky sports commentary were saying how a genuine quikc has made indian attack so much better and guys cannot be on front foot all time and many things even there was talk about aaron bouncing out batsman in eng during the commentary in sri-pak test.

rkt.india Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 My eyes were suddenly wide awake yesterday when I heard Kapil Dev when Akash Chopra asked him if Aaron impressed him or not in this match and he said you are not a fast bowler if you are bowling 2 bouncers per over. I was like I heard something wrong, but I didn't. Now who will bowl a bouncer if not a fast bowler. He said you will get wickets from fuller balls. Yes, no one debates that but bouncers are as important to bring those dismissals in.

This intimidating reputation is very important to have a good test side. Along with actual wicket taking ability ofcourse.

All the great actual fast bowlers, with much lesser test averages, often bowled more than 2 bouncers per over. So ... they were not fast bowlers according to Kapil !!

As soon as a young boy tries to bowl fast even in the nets or bowl bouncers, he will be immediately scolded and taunted "kyu Shoaib Akhtar ban raha hai" and will be asked to bowl driving lengths to batsman.

The likes of Prabhakar, Prasad, Dodda Ganesh, David Johnson etc never really had the pace to bowl short and regularly got hammered when they attempted to bowl bouncers. So they think it is best to bowl a fuller length and get the batsman driving. I hope that after playing IPL and having the opportunity to speak and train with Australian and South African bowlers and coaches, young Indian fast bowlers understand fast bowling better.

Kapil was unhappy even during Ishant's bouncer barrage 7 wicket haul. He was repeatedly saying ... what can you say if he is taking wickets, normally we don't like it. Even Sourav Ganguly, known to be a supporter of pace, hates pacers bowling short. I remember Johnson taking wickets by bowling quick short ones in an Indian ODI. But Sourav went on and on about how he should pitch it up. He ignored the wickets from short balls.

express bowling Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 A bouncer injuring the opponent has multiple effects. Puts psychological pressure on the opponent. Takes a wicket effectively. If the player is a key one, like Broad, the opposition are a bowler/ player down.

VARUN has taken a fiver though his wickets column show only 3. He has made Indians Proud. Blood on field scares weak hearts....I was surprised pankaj or varun didn't get Anderson out...possibly they didn't want to get him out.
