Didn't work out but i think Dhoni was justifying the team combination at least by opting to bat first. However, the weather and the scorecard won't probably allow our bowlers to operate on Day 5. Also if England post a huge first innings score, then the option of bowling to England again itself won't be available. This may well be over on Day 4, if no overs are lost in this match.

I don't have a problem if you are losing after trying to be aggressive. I hate when you lose playing negatively like in the last match. That approach has been tried for 3 years now and it failed every single time.

what crap team? team was fine in the last two tours and its more or less the same team (minus the bowlers) that beat aus 4-0.. the bowling composition needed to be 5 bowlers and it wasnt last match = defensive bowling and batting. These guys are still playing defensively whereas in test 1 and 2 they were more positive while being sensible. Its all mindset imo

See, thius is exactly what I am talking about. When teams wins world cup or T20 or home tets on the back of powerful performances, Dhoni is the best captain even. When team does bad overseas, then all blame goes on players? These are very, young and very raw players. This is where captain should stand up and drive them It is the easiest thing in the world to lead a team full of ATGs. And when you have ODI bats like UV and Raina. And when the world cup happens at home. But this is what can show what a captain is made of Our fast bowling attack has an experience of 12 matches between them. Many of our batsmen are touring England for first time, a place where our ATGs also sometimes failed on first tour. Calling them names and absolving the captain of all blames is a pathetic attempt at saving face
